Abstract
The master clock (2) controlling a number of slave clocks (4) incorporates a generator (5) of a frequency-modulated AC signal which is transmitted over the two-wire line (1) and decoded (6) by a microprocessor driving a control (39) e.g. for stepping the slave-clock motors. The code is preselectable by switches (35). The waveform (7) has positive half-cycles of a first frequency alternating with negative half-cycles of a second frequency, the combined duration of the two half-cycles remaining constant. The half-cycles have different amplitudes and can be transposed to provide a "digital" signal.
