Description
Wird die Verdünnung so weit getrieben, daß: auf den hinteren Schichten wirklich, scharfe Bilder ent-For the construction of a three-pack, one emulsion layer can be combined with the one for single exposures Do not use the usual silver content, because this causes such a large dispersion of the light rays passing through, that with such layers one cannot achieve even a reasonably sharp image on the two back layers can. If you want to eliminate this deficiency by reducing the bromide silver content, if an emulsion of normal composition is diluted with gelatin, the properties of the starting emulsion change by diluting with gelatin in an ever increasing amount. The sensitivity is decreased, 'and the gradation becomes significantly steeper. Will the dilution taken so far that: really sharp images appear on the back layers.
ao stehen, so sind die vorderen Schichten für Momentaufnahmen unbrauchbar; ebenso ist es unmöglich, hiermit Negative mit brauchbarer Abstufung zu erzielen.ao, the front layers cannot be used for snapshots; as is it is impossible to achieve negatives with usable gradation with this.
For this reason it was not possible for all three-packs known since then to use the Reduce the silver content so far that the lowest layers are sufficiently sharp Images could be obtained; the foremost pain was not sufficiently sensitive 'and hardness not a good gradation. Consequently the dilution of the emulsion could only be carried to such an extent that it renouncing a perfect sharpness not too insensitive and the gradation has not deteriorated too much.
This error is avoided according to the invention by using as a starting emulsion for the top part negative is not a normal emulsion, but such a use rindet, which in the undiluted state results in useless, veiled images. the Emulsions with this degree of fog are diluted; after the dilution, the veil of the starting emulsion is only closed present at a fraction not higher than normal photographic emulsions Practice.
The sensitivity of a normal emulsion can be increased by ripening or other means can only be increased to such an extent that no disturbing haze arises during development. at according to the preparation of the starting emulsion for the top partial negative of the three-pack of the present invention, this consideration is not required because the subsequent dilution with gelatine significantly reduces the degree of haze. at a starting emulsion which is particularly suitable for the three-pack can thus improve the sensitivity and the degree of haze can be increased considerably more than with an undiluted one Emulsion, because after strong dilution it forms a layer of sufficient sensitivity and gives gradation which has no greater degree of fog than normal emulsions.
B. ohne weiteres möglich, die silberarmen Schichten mit Metol und Ätznatron zu entwickeln, während für normale Bromsilberschichten nur Soda oder Pottasche als AlkaliHowever, these dilute silver emulsions require special treatment, viz the use of developers with a much larger alkali content than can be used with normal emulsions. So is it z. B. easily possible to the low-silver layers with Metol and caustic soda develop, while for normal bromide silver layers only soda or potash as alkali
ίο bei Metol verwendet werden kann.ίο can be used at Metol.
It has also been shown that. a development of the silver image through the layer, when the exposure happens through the substrate and how it is at the usual arrangement of the layers in a three-pack with one or two layers, less halogen silver is reduced in the least exposed areas than when the Exposure would have been made from the layer side.
This error can be corrected in that such exposed layers are not in the developed in the usual way and developer and alkali are applied at the same time, but that the development is allowed to take place separately in a known manner. Even a solution of much higher alkalinity can be used here.
