Abstract

It is known to connect tubular members (10) for space frames to node pieces (11) by mean of cap screws (12) at their ends and to mount these cap screws (12) rotatably and axially displaceably in the end regions of the members (10). Their axial movement outwards is limited in each case by a stop which has hitherto been formed by bending end portions (21) of the members (10) into the interior of the tubular members. In this case, however, there is the risk that the end portions (21) become excessively deformed or compressed when joining the members. To avoid this, according to the invention the end portions (21) are each engaged, in fitting fashion, into a coaxial annular groove (26) on the inner annular end face of the screw cap (25), the end portion (21) positively embracing the annular, coaxial projection (27) radially outwardly adjoining the groove (26), on the screw cap (25). <IMAGE>
