Verfahren zur Erhöhung der Haltbarkeit von Schnittblumen Es ist bekannt, zur Erhöhung der Haltbarkeit von Schnittblumen oder Schnittgrün zwecks Verlängerung der Blütendauer usw. dem Wasser für die Blumen etwas Kochsalz oder Zucker zuzugeben. Es wurde nun gefunden, daß man für den vorgenannten Zweck mit besonderem Vorteil Mischungen von Mangan oder Magnesiumsalzen oder beider Salze mit narkotisierend wirkenden Mitteln verwenden kann. An narkotisierend wirkenden Mitteln können beispielsweise Chloroform, Chloral (letzteres zweckmäßig in Form des Chloralhydrates), Methylenchlorid usw. Verwendung finden. Soweit diese Stoffe keine oder nur geringe Wasserlöslichkeit besitzen, ist es zweckmäßig, ein geeignetes Emulgierungsmittel, wie z. B. Sulfitpech, butylnaphthalinsulfosaures Salz usw., in geringen Mengen hinzuzusetzen. Als Streckmittel kann außerdem z. B. Kochsalz zugegeben werden. Es ist möglich, durch geeignete Mischungen die Blütendauer von Schnittblumen oder die Frischerhaltung von Schnittgrün usw. um mehrere Tage, also ganz erheblich, zu verlängern. Beispielsweise kann man eine Mischung von i. 2o Teilen Manganchlorid, 2o Teilen Magnesiumchlorid, 2o Teilen Kochsalz und q.o Teilen Chloralhydrat oder 2. 25 Teilen Manganchlorid, 35 Teilen Chloralhydrat :2,5 Teilen Borax, 37,5 Teilen Kochsalz mit Vorteil verwenden. Man kann diese Mischungen entweder in Pulver- oder Tablettenform oder auch als hochkonzentrierte Lösung dem Handel zugänglich machen.It has now been found that mixtures of manganese or magnesium salts or both salts with narcotic agents can be used with particular advantage for the aforementioned purpose.
