und Beschaffenheit der Isoliermittel gestellt. Denn hier ist eine besonders hohe
Sicherheit gegen Durchschläge und Überschläge verlangt. Das Nächstliegende ist,
derartige Kondensatoren in einem Isoliergehäuse, z. B. aus Porzellan, anzubringen,
dieses oben und unten Luft- und feuchtigkeitsdicht zu verschließen und womöglich
noch oben mit Regenschutzschildern zu versehen. Bei sehr großen Spannungen verwendet
man die Reihenschaltung von Kondensatoren, indem man mehrere je in einem Gehäuse
eingeschlossene Einheiten übereinander eigenartig anordnet. Man hat zum sicheren
Halt der Kondensatoren innerhalb des Gehäuses den aktiven Kondensatorkörper mit
dem Gehäuse derart zusammengebaut, daß er mit diesem ein untrennbares Ganzes bildete.
Bei Defektwerden des Gehäuses allein oder des aktiven Körpers allein mußte daher
die ganze betreffende Einheit ausgewechselt werden. Ein anderer Nachteil ist der
verhältnismäßig schlechte Wirkungsgrad und die ungenügende Raumausnutzung. Es ist
erwünscht, bei derartigen Hochspannungseinheiten als aktiven Körper normal geschichtete
Glimmerkondensatoren zu verwenden, die sich, wenn richtig gebaut, durch eine besonders
günstige Raumausnutzung, Geringfügigkeit der Verluste und Betriebssicherheit auszeichnen.
Eine wesentliche Bedingung für ein gutes Funktionieren der Glimmerkondensatoren
besteht aber darin, daß sie sich dauernd unter einer bedeutenden Pressung befinden,
und gerade dieser Umstand erschwert die Verwendung von Glimmerkondensatoren bei
besonders großen Spannungen und schwierigen Witterungsverhältnissen, da die bisher
zur Erzeugung der notwendigen Pressung gebrauchten metallischen Klammern selbst
eine Quelle für Durchschläge nur zu leicht bilden können-. Die Verwendung von normalen
Glimmerkondensatoren auch für schwierigste Verhältnisse wird nun dadurch ermöglicht,
daß bei einem Kondensator, dessen aktiver Körper durch eine in sich geschlossene,
an beiden Stapelenden anliegende starre Preßklammer zusammengedrückt ist, erfindungsgemäß
