Abstract

The invention relates to a casting device comprising at least one tundish (10) for molten metal, in addition to an assembly (8, 11-14) for maintaining a predetermined level (N) of molten metal in the tundish (10). A metal strand is discharged by being fed through a die (15) into a shaping device. The assembly (8, 11-14) for maintaining the level (N) of the molten metal comprises a metering pump (8) in the tundish (10), said pump for metering purposes having an adjustment system (11-14; 19-21) for a selectable level (N). In addition, the outlet of said tundish is equipped with a die (15; 115) for discharging the metal into a continuous shaping device or into another die.
