Abstract

A papermaking assembly feeds a wet web (2) through a drying station (1) in company with a sieve (5) and impermeable belt (8)around a heated drying drum (3) under a pressure hood (4). The web and sieve are presented via a first roller (7) and are discharged via a second roller (9). An air extractor nozzle is located in the gusset between the impermeable belt (8) and the incoming wet web (2). The air extractor nozzle is directed towards the first feed roller (7). In a further embodiment the incoming sieve and wet web are exposed to steam jets.
