Description
Process for the preparation of vanadium compounds of organic acids. It has been found that new complex organic compounds of the trivalent Vanadins are obtained by using polybasic carboxylic acids or mercaptocarboxylic acids or their salts treated with vanadium trioxide V203 or its salts or on these Acids only let vanadium trioxide or its salts act and the available solutions neutralized with alkalis or alkaline earths.
The new products are mostly colored, solid bodies that are Dissolve in water with an almost neutral reaction. You have excellent therapeutic Importance because they act very vigorously against syphilitic diseases and themselves from the known compounds of the higher-quality vanadium due to its lower toxicity distinguish.
Complex organic compounds of trivalent vanadium of such low toxicity and such high therapeutic value have not yet been known. According to the information in Beilstein, 4th edition 1I (192o), page 520, and in Chemisches Zentralblatt igi 6, 11, page 641, in addition to the very toxic and therefore therapeutically worthless complex vanadium oxalates, only formates of trivalent vanadium have been produced. The latter bodies, however, belong neither to polybasic nor to thiooxy acids. The complex vanadyl tartrates described in the literature (B arbieri, Zentralblatt 1914, 11, page 427) are not derived from trivalent but tetravalent vanadium. They also differ from the new complex sodium vanadium salt of tartaric acid in their color. While the new bodies are purple-purple in color, those are blue-purple in color.
Beispiel i.Example i.
Die Magnesiumvanadinsalze der Triglykolamidsäure sind gleichfalls in Wasser leicht löslich und in vollständig trokkenem Zustande braune Substanzen.2o parts by weight of triglycolamic acid are mixed with a solution of i Parts by weight of anhydrous soda in 6o parts by weight of water and after addition of 5 parts by weight of vanadium trioxide = V203 heated to neutrality and filtered. It is then evaporated to dryness, leaving the complex sodium vanadium salt of triglycolamic acid remains as a brown amorphous body. It is in water with first yellow, then soluble in green color. The aqueous solutions can be kept well and discolor with them Mineral acids blue. To a salt with similar properties, but twice as high Vanadium content can be achieved if only half of the soda specified above is used and then boil with about 17.0 parts by weight of vanadium trioxide. The magnesium vanadium salts of triglycolamic acid are also readily soluble in water and completely soluble in water when dry, brown substances.
One can also proceed in such a way that one the triglycolamic acid first heated with the vanadium oxide and the still acidic solution afterwards with soda neutralized.
Beispiel a.Example a.
Nach -beendigter Reaktion wird zur Trockne verdampft, wobei das komplexe Natriumvanadinsalz der Weinsäure als violette Masse zurückbleibt, die sich in Wasser mit violetter Farbe auflöst.20 parts by weight of tartaric acid are mixed with 5 parts by weight of sodium hydroxide added in 100 parts by weight of water and the still acidic solution thus obtained with 3 parts by weight of vanadium trioxide = V203 heated for some time. After the reaction has ended is evaporated to dryness, taking the complex sodium vanadium salt of tartaric acid remains as a purple mass which dissolves in water with a purple color.
Beispiel 3. Example 3.
Das komplexe Natriumvanadinsalz der Thioglykolsäure ist ein fester grauer Körper, der sich in Wasser mit grünlicher Farbe auflöst.10 parts by weight of thioglycolic acid are mixed with 3 parts by weight of vanadium trioxide = V203 and 100 parts by weight of water heated for some time, with a green, sour Reacting solution is created, which neutralizes the sodium hydroxide and renders it dry is evaporated. The complex sodium vanadium salt of thioglycolic acid is a solid gray body that dissolves in water with a greenish color.
