Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the use of a composition, the components of the herb of the genus Equisetum and Ingredients of the herb and / or the flower of the genus Lavandula contains, as a deodorant on the cosmetic sector as well as for clothing and Hygiene articles that come into contact with the skin Process for combating unpleasant body odor and unpleasant smell of clothing and Hygiene articles in contact with the skin under Use of the composition mentioned.
Unpleasant body odor arises both from secretion malodorous substances from the body as well as by the action of bacteria and / or oxygen from the body excreted, originally little to not smelling substances, which is converted into strong-smelling decomposition products become.
Odor formation can be combated once by the excretion of excretion products by the body, especially in sweat, reduced until it is prevented. This naturally leads to a deodorising effect. Can continue odors can also be combated by already secreted secretion products are prevented from develop a bad smell, which is mainly caused by a) Killing the decomposing bacteria, b) preventing the successful exposure to oxygen (oxidation) under Conversion into olfactory components and c) chemical or physical bond of already formed olfactory Components can be achieved.
There are numerous cosmetic products to combat Body odor on the market, however, all have certain disadvantages exhibit. The means, especially sweating inhibit how astringents based on Aluminum salts and in particular based on Aluminum hydroxychloride usually only have an effect on prolonged use, i.e. not immediately in a situation who would like to reduce sweat, for example in a situation of severe physical or nervous Burden; in addition, the necessary long-term use leads to that the pores are constantly in a narrowed state even if inhibition of perspiration is not required is. In contrast, cosmetic products have a deodorant effect Effect in the narrow sense little or not at all on that Sweat volume, but prevent odors mainly due to excreted body secretions by destroying the sweat-destroying Bacteria lead, that is, act bactericidal or aseptic.
However, a means would be desirable that both in If necessary, the welding volume is reduced without this in the long run to do as well as the unpleasant smell from already eliminated body secretions prevented.
In German patent application P 42 37 551.7 discloses that a composition containing the components of Herb of the genus Equisetum and components of the herb and / or the flower of the genus Lavandula contains a good, sweat-inhibiting effect that occurs very quickly after application (without the need for prolonged use is) and therefore naturally has a deodorising effect. It was now found that the deodorant effect continues even if the antiperspirant effect of this composition has subsided. This indicates that this Composition also the unpleasant odor already excreted secretion products of the body effective and prevents for a long time. It turns out thus also as a deodorant in the narrower sense. This is for the recommendation of the frequency of application of the agent important because if the deodorant component in The focus of the user's interest can be Application at longer intervals are recommended.
The invention thus relates to the use of a Composition, the components of the herb of the genus Equisetum and components of the herb and / or the flower of the Genus Lavandula contains, as a deodorant on the cosmetic sector as well as for clothing and Hygiene products.
The invention further relates to a method for combating unpleasant body odor and unpleasant smell of Clothing and hygiene items that are in contact with the skin Are in contact using the above Composition.
Equisetum (horsetail), especially the Equisetum species arvense (popularly known as horsetail, because this species, which is widely used as a weed, formerly for cleaning Pewter machines were used) and Equisetum hiemale probably used as medicinal plants in ancient times. In More recently, Equisetum was restored mainly through Kneipp brought to mind.
Gerhard Madaus reports in his "Textbook of biological Heilmittel ", Georg Thieme Verlag, Leipzig, 1938, pages 1267-1278, about innumerable inner and outer, in the custom traditional applications of Equisetum species, of which in present context especially the astringent, hemostatic effect that seem contradictory Reports of a sweaty effect (obviously when used internally; G. Madaus, op. Cit., Page 1273) and about fighting sweaty feet with footbaths and envelopes as well as the use for combating fluor albus, Ozäna, Rickets and gingivitis (G. Madaus, op. Cit., Page 1273) Interest in infusions and decoctions of Equisetum.
In Joseph Karl, "Phytotherapie", Verlag Tibor Marczell, München, 4. Also a newer, popular book of medicinal herbs (Maria Treben, "Health from God's Pharmacy", self-published "Friends of Medicinal Herbs Association", without year (but after 1978)) also mentions the hemostatic effect, the effect against Sweaty feet and use in inflammatory diseases in the mouth and throat area of horsetail (Maria Treben, op. cit., Pages 42 and 43). In Joseph Karl, "Phytotherapy", publisher Tibor Marczell, Munich, 4th edition 1983, page 133, the topical application of Equisetum arvense for dermatoses, Pemphigus, pressure ulcers, old wounds and leg ulcers mentioned in Hans Braun, Dietrich Frohne "Medicinal plants encyclopedia for doctors and pharmacist ", Gustav Fischer Verlag, Stuttgart, 1987, page 105, decoctions or an extract from Equisetum arvense as an external remedy for pressure ulcers and rheumatic Complaints listed.
Die wirksamen Inhaltsstoffe des Krauts von Equisetum arvense sind laut H. Braun, D. Frohne, a.a.O, Kieselsäure (zum Teil in löslicher Form), Flavanoide (Quercetin und Kämpferol als Aglyka), Kaliumsalze und, mit Fragezeichen versehen, Saponine, während J. Karl, a.a.O., und G. Madaus, a.a.O., Seite 1275, das Vorhandensein von Saponinen als gesichert ansehen. The effective ingredients of the herb of Equisetum arvense According to H. Braun, D. Frohne, loc. cit., silicic acid (some in soluble form), flavanoids (quercetin and kämpol as Aglyka), potassium salts and, with question marks, saponins, while J. Karl, op. cit., and G. Madaus, op. cit., page 1275, consider the presence of saponins to be certain.
Also use different types of Lavandula as Medicinal plants can be found at least until the 12th century trace back. The species is Lavandula officinalis Chaix et Vill. (= Lavandula angustifolia Mill .; genuine Lavender) in the foreground, but also other species, in particular Lavandula spica (= Lavandula latifolia Vill.), Are in various authors mentioned.
Cit., Pages 1723-1725, can be found in the external application of Lavandula of interest here - in the form of a bath additive, oil, extract, one Flower trituration and / or a tincture - indications of antiseptic and pus-repellent properties, on effects epilepsy and fainting spells, rush of blood, rheumatism, Gout, neuralgia, sciatica and also with scabies and fluorine albus. Flores Lavandulae for migraines and soothing nervous excitement. J. Karl, op. Cit., Page 203, leads lavender oil as a mild sedative and neurostimulant, and, when used externally, as an odor correction calming influence and as a hyperemic; H. Braun and D. Frohne, op. Cit., Page 147, mentions it externally Use as a skin irritant.
Older literature lists the plant part used in addition to the The herb also blooms, while more recently practical only the flowers were used. The main ones effective ingredients of lavender oil are linalyl acetate and other terpenes and tannins.
Most of the effects listed above are external Use of components of Equisetum or Lavandula are naturally vague, and unpleasant side effects are not mentioned.
When testing Equisetum arvense alone in the form of a diluted extract that was applied over several days, showed that indeed the formation of foot sweat was right was effectively prevented, but a very severe drying and embrittlement of the skin was observed, which was perceived as uncomfortable by all subjects.
Lavender alone, several days in the form of pure or with aqueous isopropanol diluted Lavandulae aetheroleum applied, only has an odor-correcting and general effect skin-friendly; an antiperspirant effect is not too observe. However, the odor correcting effect is just a drowning fragrance effect that is very strong subsides when the volatile components of Lavandula aetheroleum have evaporated, whichever Deodorant formulation should be the case after only 15 minutes can.
Only the mixture of these two components resulted in a antiperspirant and deodorant agent, which by the Test subjects described as pleasant and very effective that keeps the skin supple and - probably due to the olefactor component of lavender - one of the Test subjects described as very pleasant and soothing Has effect, which is particularly in stressful situations, in who often have vegetative hyperhidrosis, is an advantage. The deodorant effect lasts longer than the antiperspirant effect, which depends on the physical or mental stress generally after 30 minutes to 3 Hours wears off while the deodorant effect in generally lasted several hours longer.
Deodorization of shoes with complete disappearance Bad smell was usually after a single treatment the same with the above composition and exposure can be reached over 24 hours. A sole treatment with Equisetum or Lavandula did not bring the desired success. This shows most clearly that for good deodorant Effect of the above composition over the period of time Antiperspirant also has a synergistic effect of Equisetum and Lavandula is responsible.
B. an vorhandener Gerbsäure auftritt. The biological mechanism of action of this surprising Synergism has not yet been resolved. The in the German Patent application P 42 37 551.7 disclosed effects, together with the uses of the above described here Composition, however, could suggest that a good antiseptic effect due to the presence of both Components of the composition used according to the invention comes about. It is also conceivable that a physical Adsorption of olfactory components on the Silica component of Equisetum takes place and a clathrate-like and perhaps also chemical bonding of potentially malodorous substances such. B. on existing Tannic acid occurs. Antioxidative effects are also conceivable of the diverse ingredients of the two plant components. These assumptions are intended to bind a theory however not be given.
The species Equisetum arvense, Equisetum hiemale and Lavandula officinalis Chaix et Vill. (= Lavandula angustifiola Mill.), Lavandula spica and Lavandula hybrida Rev. are considered Starting plants for the composition according to the invention is used, particularly preferred.
Eine hervorragende Übersicht über mögliche Aufbereitungsformen, die in diesem Zusammenhang verwendet werden können, findet sich in Paul Heinz List und Peter C. Schmidt, "Technologie pflanzlicher Arzneizubereitung", Wissenschaftliche Verlagsgesellschaft mbH, Stuttgart, 1984.As starting materials for a recipe of the mixture Equisetum and Lavadula ingredients are preferred ethanolic aqueous (30: 70 vol / vol) extract (1: 1 vol / vol) des the former and the pure, e.g. B. by steam distillation extracted flower oil used by the latter. However, there are also other starting materials possible, e.g. B. the dried, grated herb, a juice squeezed out of the herb or a aqueous infusion of Equisetum or Lavandula or the grated flowers or an extract from the flowers of the the latter. An excellent overview of possible Formats used in this context can be found in Paul Heinz List and Peter C. Schmidt, "Technology of herbal medicinal preparation", Scientific publishing company mbH, Stuttgart, 1984.
The starting materials can, if necessary, further in all recipes suitable for the claimed applications brought, such as B. powder, ointments, creams, gels, sticks, Roll-on preparations, lotions, emulsions, solutions, can be applied, for example, as sprays, and sprays with Propellants (aerosols). An overview of possible For example, recipes can be found in Karlheinz Schrader, Basics and formulations of cosmetics, 1979, Dr. A. Huethig Verlag, Heidelberg, G.A. Nowak. Cosmetic preparations, 2. As a suitable formulation for the application according to the invention the above composition becomes a solution of one as above composite ethanolic-aqueous extract of Equisetum and Lavandula flower oil in a mixture of ethanol or Isopropanol and water, especially 35% (vol / vol) Isopropanol / water, conveniently using an atomizer can be applied, specifically mentioned.
The ratio of equity components to Lavandula ingredients are preferably in the range of 20: 100 to 100: 20 parts by volume or parts by weight, if solid substances are involved. The concentrations of the Plant components in the invention Medicinal preparations are primarily based on the Desired strength of the deodorant and after special recipe. For deodorising purposes on objects are concentrations of approximately 1 to 40% (vol / vol) in the mixing range specified above in a carrier advantageous. In the cosmetic field to prevent Sweating and body odor are generally sufficient Concentrations from 0.5 to 20%.
In 35% (vol / vol) aqueous isopropanol solution about 0.8-10 vol% horsetail extract (1: 1 (vol / vol) in 30% (vol / vol) aqueous ethanol) and about as much undiluted lavender oil as one in most cases sufficient concentration for use as an effective Deodorant proven. For an effective reduction in Sweat volume is an application every 30 minutes advantageous up to 3 hours. If there is excessive sweating to reduce an excess of equisetum in the above Composition proved to be advantageous. For predominantly deodorising purposes generally suffice to apply in 5 to 8 hours apart.
For the deodorization of shoes, for example, there is a solution the same concentration as described above sprayed until they are completely moistened with it. After 24 hourly action is generally after the first Spraying any unpleasant smells disappeared.
Hygiene items, such as sanitary napkins, can be used with the above composition to be treated to prevent unpleasant smell.

Bestandteile des Krauts von Equisetum arvense wurden in Form eines Extrakts eingesetzt (Schachtelhalmkraut-Extrakt, Fluidextrakt 1 : 1 (Vol/Vol), Auszugsmittel 30%iges(Vol/Vol) wäßriges Ethanol, erhältlich von Dr. Hetterich KG, Fürth).Ingredients of the herb from Equisetum arvense were in the form an extract used (horsetail herb extract, Fluid extract 1: 1 (vol / vol), extracting agent 30% (vol / vol) aqueous ethanol available from Dr. Hetterich KG, Fürth).
-% (DAB) [Deutsches Arzneibuch] eingesetzt (Lavendöl (Lavandulae aetheroleum) DAB Mont Blanc 38-45%, erhältlich von Vaselin-Werke Wasserfuhr GmbH, Bonn).Components of Lavandula officinalis were in the form of flower oil obtained by steam distillation with a Linanyl acetate content of 42.1% by weight (DAB) [German Pharmacopoeia] used (Lavender oil (Lavandulae aetheroleum) DAB Mont Blanc 38-45%, available from Vaselin-Werke Wasserfuhr GmbH, Bonn).
The above ingredients were in 35% (vol / vol) aqueous Isopropanol dissolved in an atomizer bottle while shaking. The solution was slightly cloudy in some cases, pointing to it indicated that part of the starting materials as an emulsion Template. However, the emulsion segregated even over a longer period Storage not.
Zubereitungen der folgenden Konzentrationen der obigen Ausgangsmaterialien in 35%igem (Vol/Vol) wäßrigem Isopropanol wurden hergestellt:Preparations of the following concentrations of the above Starting materials in 35% (vol / vol) aqueous isopropanol have been produced:
Three male volunteers washed themselves in the morning for 4 days ordinary soap the armpits and then sprayed preparation No. 1 of the manufacturing example in the left Armpit, while the right armpit remained untreated. All three subjects then did their usual (physically demanding) work. According to the reports the test subjects' shirts remained in the left armpit practically dry for an average of 2 to 3 hours, then perspiration slowly started again. The Parts of the shirt in the right armpit were average damp after about 15 to 30 minutes after starting work. To The smell of the left and right was 6 hours Armpits compared. It turned out that the left armpits treated according to the invention clearly smelled less like sweat than the untreated right Armpits. The deodorant was consistently considered very assessed skin-friendly.
The shoes of 2 people who smell of sweaty feet have been used up to good humidification with the Preparation No. 2 sprayed from preparation example 1 and Let stand for 24 hours.
