Ratio meter consisting of two soft iron systems. There are
Several suggestions for electromagnetic frequency meters have already been made,
but which have achieved no practical importance because they did not succeed
To make the display of the same sufficiently independent of the voltage. this
failed because of the influence of iron saturation on the
Had not given sufficient importance to torque. So one was in the belief
that with a frequency meter consisting of two soft iron systems, with the before
one system has a choke coil and an ohmic resistor is connected in front of the other
was, the voltage dependence of the display due to the inconsistency of the self-induction coefficient
the throttle was conditioned and tried, but without success, by special construction
the throttle (air gap inside the coil body) the inductive resistance of the same
to make it independent of the tension, i.e. constant, in order to reach the goal. the
However, the following considerations show that the voltage dependence of such
Ratio meter through the different saturation states in the two soft iron systems
is caused and can be practically compensated for by the fact that the self-induction coefficient
the choke coil connected upstream of the one system in a suitable manner with the voltage
changeable, i.e. not made constant.
In the simplest case of an electromagnetic instrument of the round coil type, the fixed and movable iron consist of the same wire-shaped structures and have the same pole strength P: where a is a constant, r is the distance between the two irons. The pole strength is: Where m - i is the number of ampere turns on the coil and the magnetic resistance of the path of the line of force taken by the lines of force penetrating the iron. It is composed of the magnetic resistance of the iron, the air path inside the coil and the air path outside the coil. The total magnetic resistance is not a constant, but changes with the magnetizing current, since the permeability of iron changes with the current. The smaller the magnetic resistance of the iron is compared to the air resistance, the closer it is to a constant. If the magnetic conductivity of the path of the line of force is f ,. then the torque is D = c- fü # i2.
die relative Stromänderung in beiden Systemen gleich, also
Dann geht obige Bedingung über in
oder ln f u, = ln f u@ -[-- inc oder fKl = C .
fu_ .
Man gelangt
Bedingung erforderlich:
oder In il + In f", = In i2 -E- In f "Z + In
C
Frequenzmesser erhalten. If you combine two electromagnetic instruments of the round coil type with no directional force in the de-energized state so that, when voltage is applied, their torques act in opposite directions, the movable system and thus the pointer always adjusts itself in such a way that the torque of one system is the same as that of the other is. If the voltage is changed, so that the pointer position does not change, the increase in torque must be the same in both systems. For example, the voltage change in system I may result in a change in current il by d il and in system II in a change in current i2 by d i2. This changes the torque Dl by d Dl and DZ by d D2: Now 2 2 2 DZ = CI'ful # Z @; D2 = 02'fu = '2 and it will be according to the equation Since dDl = dD2 must be for voltage independence, the following condition must be met: If the resistance in both systems is constant, the relative change in current in both systems is the same when the voltage changes, i.e. Then the above condition changes to or ln f u, = ln f u @ - [- inc or fKl = C. fu_ . ie it must always be f., = Cf @, or whatever is the same, both systems must have the same saturation. In the event that both systems are built exactly the same, this would theoretically be possible for one point on the scale (position of symmetry). In practice, however, it is not achievable (apart from a coincidence) to establish the two systems with the necessary correspondence. One arrives at the goal, and that is the essence of the present invention, if one selects a resistor that changes with the current as the series resistor of at least one system. In this case, according to the above, the following condition is required for voltage independence: or In il + In f ", = In i2 -E- In f " Z + In C or 'u, =''2'fu=' C or As is well known, the inductive resistance of a choke coil, especially when the air gap is outside the coil body, is not a constant, but depends on the current. The variability of the self-induction coefficient is greater, the smaller the air gap is. So you can achieve that the condition is fulfilled. Thus, by connecting an ohmic resistance in front of one system and a choke coil with a correctly selected air gap in front of the other system of an electromagnetic double system, a frequency meter that is practically independent of the voltage can be obtained.
If the quotient meter is to be operated with direct current, it should
the choke coil by an ohmic resistance that changes with the current (for example
by an incandescent lamp with suitable thermally unchangeable series and shunt resistors)
be replaced.
