Abstract

Constructional material or raw material consists of bamboo canes which have been peeled or planed in the fibre direction to form 0.5-5 mm. thin strips. The strips are flat pressed as alternate layers with a suitable binder or pressed as a glued laminate to the required shape and then cut to requirements. USE/ADVANTAGE - The material is useful for load-bearing beams, panels or planks, parquet floors, furniture or artistic products, e.g. sculptures. It can be formed inexpensively to any desired shape.
