Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for the production of metallic conduits in particular made of steel according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
A fundamental problem in the manufacture of RF resistance pressure-welded conduits from a slotted tube molded steel strip is that the due to the heating by the Welding current with welded edges always covered with liquefied material are contaminated with oxides. The oxide formation is, for example caused by the erosion of silicon, manganese, aluminum, titanium etc. from the heated pipe material. It is known to shield against the oxidizing environmental influences through inert or reducing Provide gas atmospheres. Such a special measure prevents Oxidation during the heating and melting phase of the welding narrow sides of the tape usually only incomplete. In addition, the narrow sides during the molding of the tape to Pipe always through dust, scale, grease, emulsion or the like be contaminated, so that this also causes oxygen on the narrow sides or oxides (scale) are carried along.
A narrow side trimming can admit the original condition of the Improve narrow sides, but not a guarantee for oxide-free pages in the Offer welding spot, since the trimming in any case before the Pipe molding must take place. As a result, must always be off be assumed that shortly before the point of contact of both Narrow sides in the weld spot on the melted surfaces of the welding end faces of the narrow sides oxides.
In principle, it is possible to achieve a cleaning effect by that by sufficiently pressing the narrow sides together, the oxides with the melted weld metal pressed out of the weld seam will. This requires sufficient melting of the narrow sides of the tape are moved towards each other in the course of the welding. Since the Middle areas of the narrow sides during RF resistance heating, however always colder than that due to physical conditions (skin effect) remain on the outside corners, there is a early welding of the belt centers. Because of a multiple too Thickness of the melt film bump the oxidized surfaces without a sufficient cleaning effect (exchange effect) on each other. As a result of the already taking place at low compression pressure Welding without major material flow from the center of the weld to the Outer zones always remain submicroscopically small oxides in the binding plane receive. However, these are usually only a disadvantage if extremely high toughness requirements for the pipes (e.g. extreme Low-temperature toughness). With such Quality requirements and also with regard to acid gas resistant pipes there is a need to change the oxide purity in the To improve the binding level. On the one hand, this is done by a targeted material selection, d. H. through the use of low C and high-purity alloys for the strip material and the other Improvement measures in the sense of optimal process management at Forming the steel band and during welding. Both make it more expensive Manufacture of such conduits.
Die Lösung dieser Problematik erfordert einen erheblichen Aufwand.DE 36 00 452 A1 describes a process for the production of Steel conduits known in which a combination of HF welding and laser welding is applied. The laser beam that is in the Welding gap focused on the welding point parallel to the pipe axis has the task of heating the narrow side centers intensify in order to get a better swelling, i.e. a better material flow on the narrow sides from the center to the edges and thereby achieving a better cleaning effect in the weld seam. But so far, on the one hand, only comparatively small Laser output powers (approx. 10-25 kW) are available and on the other hand, the wall thickness range of conduits with those mentioned extremely high requirements at approx. 5-15 mm, the Welding systems on which these pipes are to be manufactured at inductive power transmission with HF generator powers of up to 2000 kW. The usable power at the welding point is of the order of 450 kW maximum (approx. 20% of the power consumed). Against this useful value increases effective laser power of 10-25 kW is quite modest. The chances of success of such a must be accordingly low Measure can be assessed. Add to that the difficulty that Guide the laser beam between the narrow sides to the welding point. The Solving this problem requires considerable effort.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide a method for producing Steel line pipes with extreme requirements regarding Low-temperature toughness (e.g. 35 J at -60 ° C) to indicate that the avoids the disadvantages described, ie with comparatively low Effort is executable.
This object is achieved according to the invention by a method using the Features of claim 1. Advantageous further developments of Invention are specified in subclaims 2 to 10.
Bindefehler vermieden. In contrast to the prior art, the invention Process a focused energy flow, which is preferably in the form of Laser beams are used, not used to equalize the Melting depth across the width of the narrow sides of the strip, so for elimination of the negative consequences of the skin effect, but it is practically considered a kind of thermal cutting or edge planing process used with the the narrow sides effectively cleaned just before the actual welding point are so that no more oxidic inclusions are to be feared. Here, inert gas is used to generate high gas kinetics in the injected into a narrow welding gap. The focused energy flow, too could be applied in the form of a plasma cutting beam the task with the gas flow at high speed, the edges of liquefied or doughy material that contaminates oxidically is to blow free. Here, the imaginary welding spot due to the low material loss on both narrow sides by a few millimeters shifted to centimeters in the direction of pipe movement. The welding performance the HF process can or should be deliberately reduced, to by the time of entry into the plasma or Laser cutting beam no spraying due to short circuit formation to let liquefied material occur. Because the narrow sides of oxides are exempt, there is no longer any need to liquefy them can be achieved. There is a kind of diffusion welding in inert or reduced atmosphere. Because the whole Narrow side heating condition at comparatively lower temperatures can be kept, an undesirable spraying and thus that Local oxide accumulations or binding errors occurred more frequently in the past avoided.
Basically, it is possible to focus the energy and gas flow in To lead towards the inside of the pipe or vice versa. The latter has the Advantage that the material removal on the narrow sides does not become one Contamination of the inside of the pipe leads.
The direction of the focused energy and gas flow can be perpendicular to Welding direction stand or also a direction component in or against welding direction ("piercing" or "dragging" beam) exhibit. Inert come as gas for the gas flow of high speed or reducing gases such as B. nitrogen, forming gas, argon or Argon / hydrogen mixtures in question.
In order to heat the narrow side centers better or to the same extent as the edge zones of the narrow sides, in a further development of the invention suggested continuously inserting a hot wire or hot strip into the Lead welding gap and melt there. That’s what happens preferably to a premature electrical short in Narrow side center and to a desired increase in the amount of liquid Phase, either by itself in the upsetting process to a better one Cleaning effect leads or with the subsequent thermal Cleaning process using a laser or plasma cutting beam into one Supports the cleaning effect. Furthermore, it can be advantageous to the place where the hot wire or the hot strip is fed, opposing additional welding torches judge, which only have the task of the melting capacity increase. For this come primarily TIG, plasma or MIG pulsed arc processes in question using argon or a Argon / CO₂ mixture can be operated.
When using laser beams for the method according to the invention this from the two sides, d. H. both from the inside and the outside be directed at the welding gap. The gas flow of high gas kinetics can have only one sense of passage, so it must either be directed from the inside to the outside or vice versa.
For effective melting of the narrow sides of the tape to achieve a sufficient cleaning effect is usually sufficient Laser output powers of around 5 kW. It is also possible to get one Combination of plasma and laser cutting beam (in the welding direction arranged one behind the other) or several identical cutting beams use.
This is a major advantage of the method according to the invention see that without great mechanical effort, d. H. for example by Use of lasers of usual power levels guarantee extreme clean welding edges and thus of higher quality Welds is made possible. Furthermore, this method leaves at the same time very high welding speeds (depending on the wall thickness (5-20 mm) about 5 to 40 m / min), so that an excellent Efficiency as with the previously used HF welding without Additional measures are given. Finally, using this procedure also pipes made of high-alloy Cr-Ni steels, Nickel-based materials and clad strips are manufactured.

In Fig. 1, a steel strip is formed by the rollers 2 a, b into a slotted tube 1 and then HF resistance welded. The welding current is transmitted by the RF coil 3 by induction. The open welding gap (slot) bears the reference number 4 , the actual welding point at which the narrow sides are connected to one another, reference number 5 . From Fig. 2 it can be seen that the narrow sides of the slotted tube 1 at point AA in Fig. 1 have an uneven temperature profile 7 a. The narrow side edges are heated much more than the narrow side centers.
A laser cutting head 6 with a gas nozzle is arranged in front of the welding spot 5 above the slotted tube 1 and generates a laser cutting beam 8 acting on the narrow sides of the strip ( FIG. 3). The material melted on the narrow sides is removed with the gas flow at high speed and blown into the interior of the pipe in the form of the material jet 9 and is collected and discharged here in a suitable manner. At point BB, the temperature profile 7 b has been set by the further HF heating. The conditions just behind the welding point (section CC) are shown in FIG. 4. The heat affected zone is designated by the reference numeral 10 , the binding plane is shown in dashed lines. The liquid material available on the narrow sides at the welding point has been swung outwards and forms the welding burr 11 a, b. After the welding burr 11 a, b has been planed off, the sectional image shown in FIG. 5 is obtained at the point DD, which only shows the HF heating zone 10 . After a double annealing treatment with subsequent controlled cooling, an annealing zone 12 according to FIG. 6 results in the cross section of the tube produced.
Das als Ausgangsmaterial verwendete Stahlband hatte die folgende Werkstoffzusammensetzung (Gewichts-%):In laboratory welding tests, 40 mm wide and 12.7 mm thick Sheet metal strips made from sour gas-resistant hot wide strip of quality X65 the HF conductive welding process welded together, the Cleaning cutting beam according to the invention in the form of a laser radiation was used with an additional gas stream of high speed. The steel strip used as the raw material had the following Material composition (% by weight):

The laser beam used had an output of 6 kW. A mixture of 85% nitrogen and 15% hydrogen was used as the laser cutting gas and shielding of the edges cleaned by the laser up to the welding point forming gas 90/10 was used. The welding speed was 10 m / min. After a two-stage partial seam annealing with defined accelerated cooling, the welded joints were subjected to a quality check. The values achieved with regard to the toughness properties are shown in FIG. 7. It can be clearly seen that the guide values known from the prior art, which are represented by the lower curve, are far exceeded in the seams produced according to the invention.
For example, the impact energy at a test temperature of -60 ° C between 160 J and 245 J, while the guide value for HF welded Pipes at this temperature is less than 30 J. The verification the resistance to hydrogen-induced cracking caused by the HIC test according to NACE (method according to TM-02-84 test solution according to TM-01-77 / pH3) showed no cracks. The method according to the invention thus leads to the production of HF-welded steel pipes with whole excellent properties with regard to their low temperature toughness and Resistance to hydrogen cracking.
