Abstract
A high speed train has a locomotive and coaches supported on bogies, with the bogie side frames so designed that they can be swung about a longitudinal axis through an angle (alpha) by means of a hydraulic, pneumatic or electric actuator (3'). The wheels are thus tilted at an angle (alpha) to the vertical with the axis of rotation running along the rail flange at its point of contact with the wheel flange. On the parts of the rail track where the train runs at high speed the rail is also tilted at an angle (alpha), so that the wheel is fully supported when tilted at the angle (alpha).
