Abstract

Automatic hazard warning light system (1) for reducing the risk of dazzling to drivers of vehicles which are approaching a hazard warning light, which said automatic hazard warning light system (1) is preferably looped into the power supply line of the hazard warning light as a two-terminal network and controls the light intensity of the hazard warning light (30) as a function of the visibility conditions or the distance of approaching vehicles. <IMAGE>

Description

AufgabenstellungTask

Warning lights are u. a. frequently encountered in traffic and purposefully have a high light intensity, but with it at the same time form a dangerous source of glare. This applies particularly to those on vehicles Rear fog lights for the following and the overtaking Driver. This risk of glare is intensified due to the constantly changing fog / visibility conditions, for the negligence of the driver, the rear fog lamp not only switch on and off according to the situation and by the inevitable fact that the light intensity is square depends on the distance. The development was based on the task the risk of glare from rear fog lights in particular to reduce without reducing their benefits and at the same time to compensate for any human negligence.

The task was solved by an automatic one Brightness control for e.g. B. rear fog lights in a preferred embodiment is designed as a bipolar and thus can simply be looped into the power supply, so that it can also be easily retrofitted to used ones Vehicles is possible.

Fig. 1 shows the block diagram of the brightness control ( 1 ) according to the invention, with a controllable amplifier ( 10 ) and a detector ( 20 ). In the simplest case, this detector ( 20 ) consists of a light receiver, the rich characteristic - z. B. with a cylindrical lens placed in front of him - is such that it has only a small opening angle in the vertical and a wide opening angle in the horizontal. So that such. B. attached to the rear of the vehicle light receiver ( 20 ) to the headlights of subsequent vehicles as intended and give a corresponding control signal to the amplifier ( 10 ), which thus regulates the brightness of the rear fog lamp ( 30 ) the more the closer a following vehicle approaches and ever the visibility is better.

In practical application, this means that the fog is closed light up on vehicles far behind as well as on very dense fog has its maximum brightness clear view and / or approaching vehicle Luminous intensity reduced accordingly and thus an essential Reduction of the risk of glare is achieved.

Further advantageous configurations can be found in the Claims.
