Abstract

The invention relates to a base seal for landfill sites which consists of a top sealing layer of welded plastic sealing sheets, a mineral sealing layer arranged directly under it, and a bottom sealing layer of welded plastic sheets.

Description

The invention relates to a basic seal for landfills after Preamble of claim 1.

The basic seals of many newly created landfills are known today as so-called called "combination seal" (consisting of welded plastic seal lanes and an underlying layer of mineral Fabrics with a layer thickness between approx. 30 to 100 cm). This type of design of the basic seal has changed in recent years enforced because they are inexpensive and relatively easy to manufacture is. Furthermore, it has the advantage that the permeation of organi substances (KW) and chlorinated organic substances (CKW) greatly reduced is adorned. In the first place, however, the arrangement of a minerali sealing layer under a layer of welded plastic sealing to pursue the goal in case of leakage of the plastic geomembranes the unimpeded flow of the leachate from the depo to prevent any material from going underground.

However, recent studies and laboratory tests have shown that as a result Warming up of the landfill, for example in domestic waste landfills, also the mineral sealing layer is heated and thus a temperature gradient to the subsurface. Due to the higher water vapor partial pressure in the mineral sealing layer against the subsurface migrates Moisture in the cooler underground with the result that the mine ralic sealing layer dries out and becomes cracked and with it yours sealing function loses.

The invention is based on the object of providing a basic seal for landfills from, which prevents the drying out of the mineral sealing layer in the long run, the beneficial side effect of the combi nation seal - reducing the permeation of organic and chlorinated substances - is retained.

This object is solved by the characterizing part of claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are in the subclaims given.
