Abstract

The blades projecting radially from the vertical drive shaft in a rotary mixer or stirrer machine are fored of a series of separate blade elements whose pitch relative to the general radial direction is individually adjustable. The innermost element is mounted on a threaded journal projecting from a sleeve affixed to the drive shaft and rotating with it. The outer end of the journal lies within a cavity formed in the element and providing space for application of a retaining nut to the journal. At its end remote from the drive shaft, the first element carries a journal bolted in position and engageable with a socket on the second element. Any further elements are joined by similar attachments.
