Abstract

The invention relates to a positioning fixture for plate-shaped or bar-shaped workpieces in machine tools, having an aligning device for the horizontal displacement of the workpiece lying on a conveyor or a machining table against an adjustable positioning stop. The guide carriage 3 is mounted on the frame 2 via ball guide units 9 longitudinally displaceable, the type of ge selected storage ensures the lowest possible friction. The dimensions of the workpieces 1 and thus the position of the guide carriage 3 and the positioning stop 7 in question are selected beforehand, preferably via a program selection CNC control. The positioning stop 7 assigned to the required length or width dimension is brought into position, preferably electropneumatically. There is only one positioning stop 7 in its working position; the other positioning stops are out of function, that is to say pivoted out of the displacement path 6 . The distance between two successive workpieces 1 corresponds to the positioning time for the guide carriage 3 and the maximum time required for changing the positioning stop 7 in the case of a continuous feed.

Fig. 3 shows the use of the positioning device according to the invention in a panel sizing saw. The latter includes an exaggerated roller conveyor 13 with an electropneumatically actuated cross member 14 for moving the work pieces, not shown, against a roller ruler 15 . The direction of flow of the work pieces is marked with an arrow 16 .
