The invention relates generally to a method for
Finishing the surface of a metallic workpiece, - whereby
an electrode is approached to the surface to be machined and by
a machining current comprising the electrode, an electrolyte and
the workpiece flows through, an electrochemical removal is carried out
and where the machining current is divided into machining current pulses,
intermediary de-energized intervals and at least one reversal
current pulse is resolved. In particular, it may be fine
machining the sealing surfaces of a valve housing, a valve body
act by or the like.
In the known generic method (DE-PS 19 39 781)
worked with an electrode that is up to a gap distance of
is approached to the surface to be machined. It just works
as an electrode. The electrochemical process determines the quality of the
machined surface. If after electrochemical removal
the quality of the processed surface, e.g. B. the roundness, the
Flatness or roughness, not enough, is a second ar
necessary and post-processing with others
Tools. Post-processing is essential if the waiter
surface should have fine grinding quality. Fine grinding quality means
e.g. B. roughness depths that are in the range of one or a few microns,
with an extreme flatness or roundness in the range of
10 µm or less than 10 µm. Switching between machining current
pulses and reverse current pulses occur periodically with steep Im
pulse edges. Every machining current pulse is followed by a Um
Reverse current pulse on and this is from the de-energized interval
follows. The reverse current pulses are short compared to the bear
beitungsstromimpulsen, duration ratio about 1: 3. The switch
tion serves to eliminate the so-called passivation. Underneath
one understands, as in electroplating, the formation of potential
or ion clouds over the surface to be machined, which the
Current flow inhibits. This also means mining
an insulating oxide layer on the surface to be processed.
The electrode is not regenerated. she is
also not necessary.
In contrast, the invention is based, the gat
to perform procedures in such a way that the quality of the in one
Work step to be machined surface has fine grinding quality,
in terms of flatness or roundness and roughness.
bettete Metallpartikel leitend gemacht.
To solve this problem, the invention teaches that with an elec
trode, which is also used as a mechanical fine grinding
tool with a bear on the surface to be machined
beitungsfläche is formed that following a machining
processing with the current pulses and the currentless
Intervals of the machining surface of the mechanical fine grinder
Stuff is regenerated by the reverse current pulse
and that afterwards a fine grinding with the same tool without current
processing is carried out. - electrodes that also act as
Grinding tools are designed and work, so-called electro
chemical grinders are known per se (DE-OS 15 65 591, page 9,
Line 22 to page 10, line 21). However, they do not lead to waiters
surfaces that have fine grinding quality. This is because
defined and reproducible ratio due to tool wear
nisse can not be maintained during material removal.
A second must also be used when working with electrochemical grinders
Follow up with a mechanical fine grinding tool
if the machined surface has fine grinding quality
should point. The invention uses the knowledge that the genus
appropriate procedures also with a fine grinding tool
trained electrode can be performed. Such a too
electrode designed as a fine grinding tool is like a
Fine grinding tool or honing tool built up, e.g. B. with corundum
as abrasive grains or other abrasive grains. It's turned on
embedded metal particles made conductive. The abrasive grains can too
be embedded in the metal particles, which is regularly the case.
In the method according to the invention, the fine grinding tool experiences
in the pulse operation described with processing pulses and
de-energized intervals the wear and tear common in fine grinding.
This has the consequence that in the work surface of the fine grinding
Collect metal particles that interfere with fine grinding
Ren. They are removed by the reverse current pulse, its time
must be chosen long enough. The processing area
the fine grinding tool undergoes regeneration, so that the
subsequent fine grinding with defined ratios
can be done, resulting in a machined surface
high precision grinding quality. If you work with machining current
impulses of predetermined length, e.g. B. of five seconds, enough
it generally out, even the reverse current pulse over about this
Time span.
The process according to the invention can be carried out in a way that introductory
initially a remarkable electrochemical material in a short time
removal occurs, which is overlaid by a grinding process. To
can also the duration of the machining current pulses and
de-energized intervals can be varied, although the
Machining current pulses and the currentless intervals with the same
Period of time. It is within the scope of the invention
pulse operation described a longer processing time before
switch on, in which the machining current flows, so that at the same time
is removed electrochemically and by grinding.
In detail, the method according to the invention can be different
realize that way. Through simplicity and functional reliability
an embodiment is distinguished which is characterized by
is that the fine grinding tool during the electrochemical Ab

of the reverse current pulse as well as during fine grinding
with the same processing pressure on the surface to be processed
is pushed open. But there is also the possibility of the procedure
ren so that initially the fine grinding tool during
of the electrochemical removal during the currentless intervals
and with the same during the period of the reverse current pulse
Processing pressure pressed onto the surface to be processed,
but afterwards with fine grinding with increased machining
pressure is pressed. If the roughness is reduced very far
it is recommended to do it after the fine grinding
