Abstract

A liquid crystal display is proposed which is constructed as a projection display. A perforation grid plate which is subdivided into transparent and non-transparent sections is mounted above the liquid crystal display. The entrance aperture of the transparent regions is smaller in this case than the exit opening. This means it is possible to transform a grid arrangement having large point spacings into a grid having small point spacings. The aim is now to accommodate numerous printed conductors, for the purpose of driving, on the liquid crystal display between the individual grid points, and it is, moreover, possible for the read-out region of the liquid crystal display to be greatly enlarged as a function of the multiplex rate. <IMAGE>
