Abstract

An apparatus for cleaning high-pressure reactors (32), which are designed as vessels provided with stirrers, has a driveable spray head (20, 21) which is attached to a lifting frame and via which cleaning fluid is injected under pressure into the interior of the high-pressure reactor (32). In order to automate the cleaning process using this apparatus, the spray head (20, 21) is attached to the extendable piston rod (18) of a piston/cylinder arrangement (10), which is designed as a telescopic piston/cylinder arrangement. In this arrangement, both for actuating the piston/cylinder arrangement and as a cleaning agent, the same cleaning fluid is used. In order to establish the height at which the spray head is positioned in the container (32), a measuring device with a measuring wire (90) is provided. <IMAGE>
