Abstract

The invention relates to a device for the manual and/or automatic suction power control of a vacuum cleaner fitted with a drive motor with an electrical or electronic speed control, a fan driven by the motor and a dust collector (dust bag) also being arranged in the vacuum cleaner housing. In a region, through which the sucked-in or discharged flow of air flows, there is an air flap as a sensor for the throughflow of air, whose adjustment movements are recorded via a potentiometer and evaluated for constant control of the air throughflow. Additionally, manually operable blocking means are provided which set the air throughflow to zero and, as a result, allow an additional contact, preferably for the stepwise power switching of the vacuum cleaner. Provision is made for adaptation of the setting movements of the air sensor flap to the different power stages of the vacuum cleaner.
