Abstract

The device to simulate telecommunications lines in order to carry out interference measurements comprises individual line sections which correspond to specific line lengths and are connected in series. The noise voltage feed-in point can be selected in steps over the whole range of the simulation according to the individual line sections. The respective feed-in point of the noise voltage source can be set by means of two rotary switches, by disconnecting the line simulation at the respective point and by looping the noise voltage source into the line. The disconnection is carried out using switching means which are assigned to the individual switch positions. Each switch position corresponds to a specific line section. Precautions are taken to ensure that the sum of the line sections which can be set by the two rotary switches does not exceed the overall length of the line simulation.
