Description
Process for the production of glass pictures and mosaics. There are several Process has become known to make glass pictures or mosaics. made from colored glass. Such a procedure consists mainly in that according to the drawings attached colored pieces of glass are glued to a pane of glass, after which the joints, which, depending on their width, can also emphasize the drawing, with a cement-like one Putty to be filled. The effects achieved in this way were not artistic yet perfect, as it was impossible to create shading and smooth transitions; rather, the glass pictures had a resemblance to the lead-framed stained glass, in which one colored area, separated from the other by the black lead band, stood hard next to each other. The new procedure now remedies this drawback or the Restriction in a surprisingly fortunate way, so that made with it Glass pictures where intended to have the softness and fuzziness of tones, how they are required to certain color harmonies and moods, and how to So far they have only been achieved with the help of the usual painting techniques, but not with glass could. The new way consists in a double-sided covering of the glass pane. Accepted, on the front there are two glass squares, one purple next to it a blue one; you now attach a yellow plate on the back, which is halfway into the violet one plays halfway into the blue field, this results in the violet one a dull, soft brown, with the blue a green, so that this surface then falls through Light has a color sequence that goes from pure violet to matt gray-brown and green plays in pure blue. This simple procedure produces effects in a way that was previously not possible with any known technology. It's with this new one Process created a significant expansion of colored glass technology.
