Abstract

A device for automatic headlight adjustment in motor vehicles consists of four sensors which are arranged in pairs one behind the other in the direction of travel on those components of the motor vehicle which respond to loading. The sensors then transmit signals which pass via an analog multiplexer and an analog-to-digital converter into a microprocessor which evaluates the signals, i.e. determines differential values, additionally calculates the mean values from a series of measurements and compares them with a predetermined value. In the event of deviations from this value and when a specific threshold value is exceeded, the microprocessor transmits signals which are fed via digital-to-analog converters with operational amplifiers connected downstream to headlight adjustment equipment and bring about there a correction of the respective associated headlight using corresponding conventional means such as for example servo motors.
