Abstract

The combustible suspended components discharged from a fluidised bed (1) are removed from the smoke gases by a separator (6) and fed to a dust burner (9). When additional combustion air is introduced, the suspended components are burnt up at temperatures far above those of the fluidised bed (1). A burner muffle (11) ensures that the flame jet (12) is guided towards the fluidised bed (1) and that the liquid slag (13), which drains off onto the fluidised bed, is separated. <IMAGE>
