Abstract

Process for mfr. of powdered fuel from cellulosic biomasses (elephant grass, straw, bagasse, wood, etc.) or brown coal or lignite, comprises (i) compacting the biomass by pressing or, in the case of wood, reduced to 30-60 mm pieces; (ii) heating these materials or untreated brown coal or lignite, all air-dry, pref. in a shaft furnace, in a countercurrent of inert gas or flue gas and in the absence of air to 250-350 deg.C or (with the biomasses) to just below the temp. of charring; and (iii) grinding the prod. from (ii) in the absence of air. The fuel is uniform, reactiVe and of increased calorific value (about 7000 kcal/kg).

Description

Verfahren zum Aufarbeiten von Process for processing

zellulosehaltigen Biomassen bzw. cellulosic biomass or

Brown coal and lignite to form a uniform, highly reactive, powdery fuel.

The invention described below aims to geologically fossil fuels younger biomasses such as peat, lignite, lignite etc., but especially renewable, cellulosic biomass such as elephant grass, straw, bagasse, wood etc. in one Working up uniform, powdery, highly reactive fuel.

The above-mentioned materials come in a variety of forms. Here is one of the reasons why it is still neglected as an energy source to this day will. Their calorific value is also due to the high content of dietary fibers such as moisture, Oxygen etc. very little.

Bertinizing is an old process that developed for coal refinement but never achieved practical importance. With this Bertinization that becomes Material heated to a temperature of 250 to 3000 C with the exclusion of air, wherein first the moisture is expelled in vapor form.

In the further a substantial part of the oxygen becomes inform of Constitutional water and carbonic acid and, if available, a large part of the sulfur deposited as hydrogen sulfide and other gaseous fiber.

Air-dry material with approx. 15% residual moisture loses when bertinizing almost half of his weight.

Its calorific value increases on average to approx. 7000Kcal / kg. In the Bertinization of cellulosic biomass may only be heated to just below come to the temperature at which their kiln processes start and are exothermic, continue to run independently.

During the subsequent grinding process, all materials become uniform and achieves a high energy yield when burned. In some developing countries Milling with a lot of oversized grain would be appropriate, çm from the oversized grain after sieving to produce a kind of synthetic fuel (briquette or pellets). In these countries is usually a great lack of primitive fuels.

Through the Bertinization and grinding there is a strong splitting of macromolecules. This creates a myriad of unsaturated bonds originated, which the sorption with atmospheric oxygen but also air humidity downright challenges. That is a conditionally increased risk of explosion and together a reduction the calorific value. For this reason, the grinding, storage and transport take place in the absence of air, i.e. oxygen-free and dry.
