Description
The invention is based on a sensor of the type of the main claim.
It is known that in internal combustion engines under certain knocking occurs in working conditions. This means tone frequency vibrations of the com primed fuel-air mixture caused by a shock wave are triggered. During this vibration is the heat transfer on the piston and cylinder walls of the furnace engine greatly inflated. This requires a harmful one thermal overload of these surfaces, causing knocking should always be avoided. However, on the other hand strives to burn the existing operating area to utilize the engine as much as possible exists an interest in a sensor that detects knocking early and safely indicates.
A knock sensor is described in DE-OS 28 01 969, which has a piezoelectric element as a bending oscillator. The free end of the bending vibrator protrudes into one with a damping fluid filled and sealed with a sealing element drilling. The knock sensor has the disadvantage that to install the bend several steps are necessary. The connection elements are located free and are therefore free from environmental influences such as moisture and pollution set. Furthermore, the knock sensor is only with the help of additional tension devices to match the reference frequency.
The object of the invention is to provide a sensor which reliable knock detection causes its vibrating element in front of the environment is safely protected and its individual parts its simple and enable automated manufacturing.
The solution to this problem results from the features of the claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of the Un claims.
Es zeigenEmbodiments of the sensors and individual parts according to the invention these are explained in more detail in the description below. It demonstrate

For an industrial mass production of knock sensors with a piezoelectric oscillating element, in which the Schwingele element is to be encapsulated against environmental influences, it is necessary to design both the contacting and the mounting of the oscillating element in such a way that auto-appropriate production is possible. For holding and contacting the oscillating element, a contact angle 10 is used, as shown in FIGS. 1a and 1b in side and top views. The contact angle 10 has a frame 11 which merges into legs 12, 13 . On the frame 11 marks 14, 15 are attached to the separation of the frame 11 , as explained below. FIGS. 2a and 2b show in side and top view a piezoelectric vibrating element 16, as is üb SHORT- used for knock sensors. The vibrating element 16 is covered on at least part of its two side surfaces with a contact layer 17 . The distance between the legs 12, 13 of the contact angle 10 is chosen so that the oscillating element 16 between the legs 12, 13 is held elastically. The contact between the legs 12, 13 of the contact angle 10 and the oscillating element 16 or its contact surfaces 17 is then produced by dip soldering, general soldering or the introduction of a conductive adhesive. It is particularly advantageous that the contact angle 10 with the inserted and contacted oscillating element 16 is easy to handle and can also be stored as a semi-finished product.
FIGS. 3a and 3b show side and front view of a mounting cartridge 20 which consists of an encapsulant and bracket part 21 and a guide part 22. The two parts are connected on the inside via a passage opening 23 , the cross section of which is somewhat larger than that of the oscillating element 16 . In the wall of the potting and holding part 21 , a holding groove 24 is provided on both sides. The assembly of the contact angle 10 with the inserted vibrating element 16 and the mounting cartridge 20 is now carried out in such a way that the free end of the vibrating element 16 is pushed through the passage opening 23 in Fig. 3a from the left until the frame 11 of the contact angle 10 from the Holding groove 24 is held. By designing the passage opening 21 and the frame 11 of the contact angle 10 , a clear positioning for automatic assembly is possible.
The parts assembled as described:
Contact angle 10 , oscillating element 16 and assembly cartridge 20 are now inserted into a housing 30 , as shown in FIG. 4. The housing 30 has a blind bore 31 and a further bore 32 . To accommodate the line cable to a third hole 33 is still introduced. The diameter of the blind bore 31 is dimensioned such that the guide part 22 of the assembly cartridge 20 can be inserted in a snug fit. Then the free end of the oscillating element 16 projects through the passage opening of the assembly cartridge 20 into the blind bore 31 . If a first lead 34 and a second lead 35 of a cable 36 are now soldered to the contact angle 10 , the frame 11 of the contact angle 10 having been separated at the markings 14 and 15 , the exposed part of the arrangement in the bores 32 and 33 can be made with a Potting compound 37 must be filled in. The vibrating element 16 is now held by the potting compound 37 and can swing freely in the sack bore 31 , being protected from environmental influences such as moisture and dirt by the potting of the bores 32 and 33 . By casting the Mon cartridge 20 a defined vibration length of the vibrating element 16 is also achieved so that no subsequent tuning of the resonance frequency is required.
In a further preferred embodiment of the invention, a part is used instead of the contact angle 10 , as is shown in side and front views in FIGS. 5a and 5b. The part has a disc-shaped contact part 40 and an elongated holding part 41 which lie one on top of the other and are penetrated by a passage opening 46 , the cross section of which corresponds to the cross section of the oscillating element 16 . In addition, contact and holding part 40, 41 contact pins 42, 43 are guided. Contact and holding part 40, 41 are made of electrically non-conductive material, the surface of the contact part 40 is strip-shaped covered with contact surfaces 44, 45 , for example by copper cladding, which are separated by the passage opening 46 from each other. If you move the vibrating element 16 through the passage opening 46 , as indicated in Fig. 5a, a contact between the contact layers 17 of the vibrating element 16 and the contact surfaces 44, 45 of the contact part 40 can be made by soldering. Likewise, contact is made between the contact surfaces 44, 45 and the contact pins 42, 43 . The resulting part with inserted vibrating element 16 is now, as described above for the contact bracket 10 , inserted into the mounting cartridge 20 , the holding part 41 engaging at its ends in the holding grooves 24 of the mounting cartridge 20 . The knock sensor is manufactured further in the manner described above.
