Abstract

The starter operates on the orinciole of a pressure switch. It is installed in the cellar, together with the usual controls and safety devices, so that there is no time delay and consequent loss of energy when the sun's heat becomes useful. The increase in pressure arising from the sun's rays impinging on the collector(s) is used to operate a pressure switch. The latter is adjustable to match the pressure head of the cold section of the heating installation. When the radiation from the sun ceases to be effective, the reduction in pressure is used to switch the system off. A manometer can be used for pulse generation via a contact and having the same function as the pressure switch.
