Abstract

The data transmission system has a control line and a supply line. A central unit switches in substations via the control line. The substations in turn contact in loads distributed along the supply line. The control line consists of an optical fibre cable and is laid as a ring line or as star lines radiating from the central unit. The advantage lies in the cheapness with which data can be sent to the central microprocessor unit from substations, e.g. ignition system, fuel injector etc.
