Abstract

The foot support for incorporating in shoes has variably flexible parts. The moist flexible part is from the heel (5) to the part under the bone of the fifthe metatarsus bone (11) and to the area (6) of the fourth and fifth metatarsus, then to the area (12) of the big toe and finally to the area of the end of the big toe. There are two hard regions (8, 9) one (8) of which forms a rim round the foot and at least partially encloses the heel (5). The second hard region (9) forms the tread area of the second to the fifth toe end. The hard edge section (8) widens out (10) to support the second and third metatarsus. There are two layers joined together, one of hard, and one of flexible material.
