Abstract

The magnetically operated valve has an annular magnet (22) mounted on a sleeve (21) contg. near its one end a pole piece (25) of the magnet and near its other end an axially movable armature (18). This is secured to the valve member (17) which is opened when the armature is attracted to the pole piece. The valve can also be opened manually by a knob (32) threaded into the end of the pole piece remote from the armature. Rotation of the knob causes it to abut a shoulder (35) on a rod (34) secured to the armature to raise latter into the "valve open" position.
