Abstract

Reed contacts are sealed in tubes with leads at both ends, and are magnetically operated. They are mounted parallel to each other on the strip's front side. The pick-up has also a number of resistors with axial leads, shorter than the reed contacts, arranged in parallel to each other. A measurement line is connected through a reed contact to a tapping of the chain of resistors connected in series. A permanent switching magnet is movable in parallel to the strip along the contact series. The magnet (3) is magnetised symmetrically about its axis which is parallel to the strip's longitudinal axis (64). The magnet is rotatable about its axis.
