Abstract

The probe comprises a soft, elastic, tube contg. a stabilising, flexible, rod-shaped or tubular, guide element adapted to facilitate the introdn. of the probe into an intestinal tract. The leading end of the tube of the probe is provided with a relatively enlarged head portion which is rounded and consists of a soft material. The tube may be made of a silicone rubber. The probe is easily inserted into a patient's intestinal tract even if unconscious, with no risk of causing injury or pain. The probe may be inserted and placed safely at a desired location, a patient's peristaltic activity not withstanding.
