Infolge der zunehmenden Nachweise der schädlichen Nebenwirkungen von Detergentien auf Wunden spülen die meisten Ärzte die Wunden einfach mit großen Mengen 0,9%- iger Kochsalzlösung. when treating the wounds with a 0.9% saline solution The antiseptic agents in the cleaning solutions have a beneficial effect on the soiled wounds, but cannot eliminate the harmful effects of detergents. The invention is based on the object of finding a cleaning solution of the type mentioned at the beginning, their soiling detergents have no adverse effect on healing.

Als Beispiele für im Handel erhältliche Piuronische Polyole, die sich für die Erfindung eignen, seien die Polyole der BASF Wyandotte Corp. genannt, die unterregarding the toxicity of detergents in wounds is not as important as the proportion of Äthylenoxyds * Ss has been found, aschend that only then no impairment of the natural resilience of the wound against infection after flushing has been recorded with the cleaning solution, w nn the Äthylenoxydanteil least about 75% is «On the other hand, if the proportion of ethylene oxide is below 75%, the susceptibility to infections rises sharply. The block copolymers used according to the invention belong to an almost unlimited number of non-ionic surface-active substances which are commercially available and are usually referred to as piuronic polyols. These are a series of block copolymers consisting of water-soluble poly (oxyethylene) groups at both ends of a water-insoluble poly (oxypropylene) chain. The first step in the production of the surface-active substances mentioned is the controlled addition of propylene oxide to the two hydroxyl groups of a propylene glycol nucleus. The polyoxypropylene glycol obtained becomes water-insoluble at a molecular weight of 900. The hydrophobe is then brought to the desired molecular weight and ethylene oxide is added to enclose the hydrophobic base between hydrophilic poly (oxyethylene) groups of a certain length. The surfactants which are contemplated for the invention are the small group in which the addition of ethylene oxide is controlled so that it constitutes at least 75% by weight of the final copolymer. Examples of commercially available piuronic polyols which are suitable for the invention are the polyols from BASF Wyandotte Corp. called that under

The surfactants can be prepared by the methods described below:

First, a stainless steel reaction vessel is used Steel cleaned with nitrogen. Propylene glycol and sodium hydroxide were then added to it with moderate agitation heated to 120 C until the sodium hydroxide dissolves. Propylene oxide becomes as fast as it reacts added while maintaining a TemperatMr of 120 C until the desired molecular weight is obtained will. Then the desired amount (75% or more) of ethylene oxide is added at such a rate that that the desired reaction temperature of 120 C is maintained. After everything has been added ethylene can be the low boiling point Polymers are withdrawn from the reaction vessel. The reaction mixture is then neutralized, and usually with phosphoric acid, except for a pH value of 7-1. The neutralization salts become necnanical removed by filtration and the resulting end product cooled.

Die Antiseptika in den Reinigungslösungen haben gewöhnlich Gewichtsanteile von 0,5 bis 590.Cleaning solutions according to the invention can be produced simply by dissolving the copolymer in water. The concentration of the copolymer in water can be selected differently on condition that it is sufficient to achieve the desired cleaning effect. In general, concentrations of at least about 10% up to about 25% by weight have been found to be suitable. The antiseptic present in the cleaning solution according to the invention can be of a type that is also used in conventional cleaning solutions of the invention form stable, soluble complexes with elemental iodine, as described in the article "The: 'Interference of nonionic emulsifiers with preservatives" by de Havarre, MG and Bailey, HG in the journal J. According to the invention, aqueous solutions of complexes of the above-described copolymer with iodine are used as cleaning solutions for wounds, the surface-active copolymer contributing to the cleaning effect and the iodine eliminating the bacterial pathogens. The antiseptics in the cleaning solutions are usually 0.5-590 by weight.

The cleaning of the wounds with the inventive Cleaning solutions can be found in the usual way by rinsing or rubbing out gauze, sponges, cotton wool or the like. instead, the latter being soaked with the cleaning solution. The results of Table 1 show that the incidence of visible infections of infected wounds after the use of a high molecular weight polyol was not significantly greater than the infection rate of wounds made with a polyol with the same ratio of ethylene oxide to propylene oxide (ÄO: PO), but treated with a lower molecular weight. The width of the hardened zones of the wounds were, however significantly larger than the width of the after treatment with a polyol with a molecular weight of 14,000 indurated wound edges when using a polyol with the same EO: PO ratio of 4: 1 but with a lower molecular weight of 5000 or »3350, the molecular weight has also with the pluronic Polyols with a low ethylene oxide content, if one compares them with one another, not significantly different Influence on inflammatory tissue reactions. The results of Table 4 clearly show that the therapeutic effect of an inventive pluronic polyol and betadine mixed antiseptic Solution in the treatment of soiled and infected wounds is significantly better than that of the Commercially available Betadine cleaning solution, none of the wounds made with the antiseptic polyol-betadine mixture had been treated showed an infection, while in comparison 66.6% with commercially available Betadine cleaning solution Wounds showed infections. The effectiveness of the antiseptic mixed with polyol and betadine The solution can also be found in the data on the bacterial cultures determined. All with the Betadine cleaning solution treated wounds contained Staphylococcus aureus. In contrast, only 50% of the wounds were treated with an antiseptic cleaning solution mixed with a pluronic polyol and Betadine were obtained, Staphylococcus aureus. The difference between the frequency of sterile cultures in the two treatment groups compared with Q.5 significant at the level of reliability.
