Process for the production of a brown wood mass (half-cellulose) from resinous types of wood.
Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 12. Juli 1911 ab.Patented in the German Empire on July 12, 1911.
Although this Process also used for the production of half-cellulose from resinous types of wood the application of these types of wood does run into difficulties, though the quality of the cell tissue of the same is by no means inferior to the quality of the non-resinous types of wood and the process, depending on local conditions, is even cheaper will. The processing of the wood from resinous types of wood requires more alkali than those of the less resinous types, because they convert the resin into a soluble state or an excess amount of alkali is consumed in so-called resin soap; in addition, the solution obtained thereby possesses
ao — als Gemisch von Kolophoniumseife und Zersetzungsprodukten der inkrustierenden Substanzen durch Alkali — keinen Wert als Nebenprodukt. ao - as a mixture of rosin soap and decomposition products of the encrusting substances by alkali - no value as a by-product.
If, on the other hand, a dilute alkali solution is left on resinous wood - albeit under Pressure, but not at a high temperature - act, the alkali decomposes the encrusting ones Substances not, but it saponifies the resins and partially separates the rosin in the form of an emulsion. Thus, after its use, the alkali solution contains on the one hand resin soap and rosin, which can be separated after cooling by filtration, and the by-product one Give value; on the other hand, however, the wood mass is freed from the resin and can Action of the filtered solution at higher pressure and higher temperature for Purposes of the decomposition of the encrusting substances are subjected.
The new process enables full utilization of the processing of the resin product serving alkali and also pursues the task of an on and for to win valuable product in the form of a brown wood mass.
The production of half-cellulose according to the new process consists in that the spruce wood body is first crushed in machines in a known manner. Now the shredded wood is treated with dilute alkali lye heated under pressure of 3 to 5 atmospheres or slightly above at a temperature below 100 °, the alkali by means of an injector is kept in constant circulation. Then the mass is cooled, drained the liquor and filtered in centrifuges, filter presses, etc. The filtered off After the unsaponified emulsified resin has been deposited on the filter, lye becomes further cooking of the wood mass obtained is used, under the action of Steam at 5 to 6 atmospheres pressure and at the appropriate temperature, which now
mehr das Alkali auf die inkrustierenden Substanzen der Holzmasse einwirkt, sie zersetzt und in Halbzellulose verwandelt.the more the alkali acts on the encrusting substances of the wood mass, it decomposes and turned into half-cellulose.
The distinguishing feature of the new method is that it is used for processing resinous types of wood to half-cellulose the crushed wood mass first of the action a dilute alkali solution under pressure and at a relatively low temperature until ioo ° is suspended. Under these conditions the alkali acts on the encrusting substances, but at the same time results in a mixture of rosin and resin soap. After separating the rosin from the resin soap, it is also used • the wood mass, freed from the resin, from the action of the filtered alkali solution subjected to the decomposition of the substances encrusting the wood cells, which at high Pressure and corresponding temperature is going on.
