Abstract

A sliding guide sleeve (28) with a nozzle (30) is positioned on the front end of the catheter tube (18) and contains a sterile lubricant (36). A flexible casing (34) couples the connector (16) with the guide sleeve (28). The sterile lubricant (36) can be between the front end of the catheter tube (18) and the nozzle (30). The guide sleeve (28) has a channel (26) in it coupled to the nozzle (30) into which the front end of the catheter tube projects (18) with the lubricant in the channel (26) between the nozzle (30) and the catheter tube. The lubricant can be water soluble. Thus the catheter can be supplied lubricated yet remains sterile in application.
