The invention relates to a method for producing plastic containers, preferably for highly flammable liquids as well as one produced by this process Plastic container.
Dies hat verschiedene GrundesSo far it has still not been possible to use the well-known 20 L three-handle Wehrmacht canister Manufactured from sheet steel (Jerry-Can) equivalent in plastic, although plastics have been known for a long time. There are several reasons for this
1. Die Kanister müssen genügend diffusionsdicht sein. Dies bedeutet, daß während1. The canisters must be sufficiently diffusion-tight. This means that while
Da kleinere Kanister eine kleinere Oberfläche haben,a certain period of time and within a certain temperature range diffuse only a certain amount of fuel out of the canisters (permeate). Otherwise an explosive mixture is created with the air, that can ignite when handling the canisters. The amount of diffusion According to German safety regulations, each canister must not exceed a certain level, regardless of whether the canister is large or small. The amount of diffusion is independent of the wall thickness and the size of the container surface. Since smaller canisters have a smaller surface area,

diffundiert bei ihnen weniger als zulässig ist. Bei größeren Kanistern, insbesondere bei den 20 L- und 30 L-Kanistern ist die Oberfläche jedoch so groß, daß bei Verwendung von normalem Niederdruck-Polyäthylen zu viel Füllgut diffundieren kann, wenn der Behälter mit Vergaserkraftstoff gefüllt ist.diffuses with them less than is permissible. With larger canisters, especially However, the surface of the 20 L and 30 L canisters is so large that too much filling material diffuses when using normal low-pressure polyethylene can when the tank is filled with carburetor fuel.
2. Kanister reiben beim Transport aneinander. Dadurch entstehen elektrostatische Aufladungen. Canisters rub against each other during transport. This creates electrostatic Charges. If the surface resistance of the canister material is too great, these charging potentials cannot be diverted. The charge can then not equalize quickly enough and flashover sparks can occur when pouring, e.g. from the tank to the canister. These flashover sparks can initiate explosions like ignition sparks.
The canisters must be able to withstand large temperature differences. Only Plastic canisters simulated from the well-known three-dimensional canister made of sheet metal float like a balloon at an ambient temperature of around 70 C, because an overpressure builds up inside.
The canisters must be shaped so that you can hold them with their three Handles, e.g. B. hanging on the parachute, can throw and the opening jolt of the parachute does not damage the canister.
The canisters must be designed in such a way that they do not burst at any point, if you let it fall from a height of a few meters onto a concrete slab when it is considerably below zero.
The shape of the canister has to take into account that it is very There are many brackets, lifting pallets, storage rooms and the like, in which the 20 L-Wehrmacht canister made of sheet metal fits and in which the Have plastic canisters to fit.

The list of these requirements can be extended.
Das Verhältnis von Regenerierkosten zu Anschaffungspreis ist bei Blechkanistern etwa 1:4.Although it is known that plastic canisters are made much more easily can be used as sheet metal canisters / there is not yet a suitable 20 L plastic canister three handles. It is also known that the plastic canisters are neither inside nor must be painted outside after a few years, so that these costs do not apply. The at Regenerating costs are namely a significant fraction of the new price a sheet metal canister. The ratio of regeneration costs to purchase price is at Sheet metal canisters about 1: 4.
It is also known that the plastic canister could be manufactured considerably less expensively. This would be particularly important in the case of a mass-produced article.
There have been many efforts and attempts to improve diffusion tightness with antistatic Combine properties and achieve sufficient dimensional stability. All these attempts, however, got stuck because they did not necessarily all succeed to master the parameters to be fulfilled at the same time.
Ferner besteht die AufgabeThe object of the invention is to provide a method that solves all of the previous problems solves and with the addition of containers of any kind, such as fuel tanks for automobiles, especially 20 and 30 L canisters can be produced. Spout 16, for example with an external thread. One could also use the usual clip fastener or a ring fastener. Approximately in the diagonal area of the larger side surfaces of the canister 11 a truncated cone recess 17 is provided, which extends so far inward that it meets the opposite wall and can provide the basis for a fixed connection to be described later.

Canisters are arranged. The handle 14 is injection molded onto the shell 18, and the handle 12 is injection molded onto the shell 19. The edges 22, 23 of the shells 18, 19 end shortly before the center plane 12 and even jump back a little in the area of the handle 13. The edges 22, 23 have an inwardly facing bevel 24, 26 . With the inner surfaces of the shells 18, 19, a blown hose 27 is firmly welded to its outer surface. For better welding, the shells 18, 19 have numerous small cones 28 on their inside which cut open the outer surface of the hose 27 but do not pierce the hose 27. Only in the area between the 'edges 22, 23 does the hose 27 come to light on the outside and, because of the bevels 24, 26, can nestle well and there are no transition difficulties.
The injection-embossing process is used for this. at With this method, the injection mold is not completely closed by a few tenths of a millimeter, injects the cavity completely and then closes after the injection process has ended the shape completely. As a result, the material in the mold is mechanically compressed and becomes much more dimensionally stable and dimensionally stable more diffusion-resistant than conventionally injected thermoplastic material or

verblasenes Material. The injection pressure is usually 15 atmospheres and more. AS's material used a polyethylene type with a surface resistance that is substantial
B. Vergaserkraftstoff gefüllten Kanister zu verhindern.is below 10 ohms. A material with a surface resistance of 10 ohms is preferably used. After the injection, the shells 18, 19 are heated to about Γ λ C «. Each shell is then placed in one half of a blow mold. Canisters are blown upside down, the pouring spout 16 serving as an inlet opening for the blowpinoy. In the usual blowing process, the tube 27 is now blown so that it lies on the inside of the shells 18, 19 when hot. The cones 28, 29 are enclosed by the paraffin-like skin of the tube 27 and welded to one another. The hose 27 is also made of polyethylene. However, a material is used here that is particularly diffusion-tight. The size of the bowl 18, 19 can be up to half the size of a canister. The shell 18, 19 contains the handle 12 or 14 and the conical depression 17 in the form of a blind hole. In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 4, the depression 17 has a hole 20 in the bottom surface 15. This hole 20 must be large enough so that the hose 27, which welds the two mirror-inverted shells 18, 19, can swell through at the location of the hole 20 in the bottom 15 of the depression 17 and thus causes a rivet-head-like weld 25 of the depressions 17. The inner surfaces of the depressions 17 are strongly roughened. But they can also be provided with pointed elevations 28. The purpose of the depression 17 is to reduce the balloon-like inflation when exposed to temperature on the with z. B. to prevent carburetor fuel-filled canisters.
Diese gehen mit einem Fußbereich 32 radiusartig in dieIn a further exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 5, the shells 18, 19 are two Truncated cones 29, 31 reduced. Outer wall of the canister and taper towards the edge in a thin tip 33 to achieve a uniform transition. The two truncated cone plateaus 34, 36 are at such a distance from one another that there is still a sufficient amount of hose material 37 between them. In this context it should be pointed out that the invention is nowhere concerned with film-thick material below 1 mm. Rather, the wall thicknesses are such that they can withstand rough operation. The total wall thickness of a 20 L canister is in the range of 5-10 mm. The wall thicknesses can be distributed in half over the hose material and the sprayed material. The truncated cones 29, 31 do not serve so much to reduce the surface resistance and the diffusion. Rather, they serve more to make the blown wall of the canister more dimensionally stable in this area. If the indentation 17 is only produced during blowing, it can happen that the hose material 37 is welded, but becomes too thin because of the excessive stretching, ie stretching of the hose material in this area. Injection-molded trays are used to prevent this from happening. The forces to be absorbed here can be very large. For example, at 75 C in a petrol can there is an internal pressure of up to 3.5 atmospheres.
As shown in FIG. 5, the truncated cones 29, 31 are quite slim. Achieved by this on the one hand, they take away as little volume as possible from the K an isternern. aside from that then align the side walls of the depressions 17 more with each other, so that they essentially only be claimed on train. This is one type of stress that Plastic withstands well.

The truncated cone plateaus 34, 36 are just as large as is necessary to the rivet heads of the double head rivet 38 to accommodate. The shank of the double-headed rivet 38 has a large diameter in relation to this.
The depressions 17 of the two shells 18, 19 are in the first embodiment designed the same.
The middle handle 13 is made of hose material and can according to a method
be prepared as described, for example, in French patent specification 7 018 685.
With regard to the diffusion tightness, it should be pointed out that the hose material has a major share in this and that the shell material only has to apply the remaining amount of diffusion tightness that is then still missing. It should also be noted with regard to the material to be used that the hose 27 consists of a
thermoplastic plastic must exist, while the shells 18, 19 can consist of either a thermoplastic or thermosetting or glass fiber reinforced plastic. The only condition is that the material of the hose can be welded to that of the shells.
