Das Ortheft hat den Zweck, das lästige und zeitraubende Ausbrennen der abgebrochenen
Orte, welche in der Regel dicht am Heft abbrechen, zu vermeiden.The purpose of the Ortheft is to prevent the annoying and time-consuming burning out of the broken off

Das Ortheft b zum Bespeilen der Stiefel für Schuhmacher besteht aus einem gedrehten Heft
aus trockenem harten weifsbuchenen Holz von etwa 9Y2 cm Länge und 3Y2 cm Stärke und
ist mit einem nicht gelötheten, sondern aus einem Stück geprefsten Ring von starkem Eisen,-blech
versehen. Indem dieser Ring auch am Ende etwas gekratzt ist, hat derselbe eine
aufsergewöhnliche Haltbarkeit. An der Spitze des Heftes befindet sich ein kegelförmiges Loch
von etwa 2 cm Länge und etwa 7 mm Weite an der Spitze; es verjüngt sich nach innen bis
auf 3Y2 mm, in welcher Weite es dann durch

vermeiden, mit einer runden Lederscheibe versehen ist, welche etwa 3 mm tief in dem Heft
sitzt. Da bei Ergänzung .der kleinen Lederscheibe durch unvorsichtiges Hineintreiben derselben
das Heft aus einander getrieben werden kann, ist dasselbe ,noch mit einem Ringe versehen.
