Abstract

The device has near the tip of the needle a supersonic position-finding oscillator which is connected to a high-frequency transmitter and a doppler apparatus to which in turn is connected a depth-measuring device which ascertains the depth of the vessel in accordance with the pulse transit time principle, as well as a measuring aid on the needle in the form of a path-scale extending in the longitudinal direction of the needle. The oscillator may be laid on the face of the skin and serve as a guide to the needle. The oscillator face may be oblique to facilitate oblique introduction of the needle.
