Abstract

The hearing-aid has a transmitter producing a magnetic field modulated in the a.f. range. This field is picked-up by a receiver consisting of a pre-magnetised ferromagnetic element (8) free to vibrate. This element is located in the ear passage or in the middle ear fixed to the hammer, anvil or stirrup bone. The element may be a small bar-shaped permanent magnet, or an elastic ferro-magnetic membrane mounted on a pot-shaped permanent magnet. In the latter case the membrane and pot-shaped magnet form a closed chamber that fits into the middle ear. The transmitter is a coil.
