Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen Wirbelkörperplatzhalter mit einem zylindrischen Innenkörper, der in einen koaxial angeordneten, hülsenförmigen Außenkörper teleskopartig einschiebbar ist.
Ein solcher Wirbelkörperplatzhalter ist beispielsweise aus der DE 202 07 853.1 bekannt. Bei spongiösen Knochen kann es vorkommen, dass sich der obere Rand des Wirbelkörperplatzhalters gemäß DE 202 07 853.1 in den Knochen eindrückt, da die Kontaktfläche zwischen Wirbelkörperplatzhalter und dem benachbarten Wirbelknochen vergleichsweise gering ist, was zu einer hohen Flächenpressung führt.
Davon ausgehend liegt der vorliegenden Erfindung die Aufgabe zu Grunde, einen Wirbelkörperplatzhalter zu schaffen, der auch bei spongiösen Wirbelknochen nicht unerwünscht in diese eindringt.
Als technische Lösung dieser Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, den eingangs genannten Wirbelkörperplatzhalter dahingehend weiterzubilden, dass an einer Stirnseite des Innenkörpers und/oder an einer Stirnseite des Außenkörpers ein Deckel angebracht ist.
Ein nach dieser technischen Lehre ausgebildeter Wirbelkörperplatzhalter hat den Vorteil, dass der Deckel eine großflächige Auflage für den Wirbelnknochen bildet, so dass die Flächenpressung gering bleibt und der Wirbelkörperplatzhalter nicht länger in den Wirbelknochen eindringen kann.
Damit der Deckel ordnungsgemäß am Innenkörper oder am Außenkörper gehalten wird, wird in einer bevorzugten Weiterbildung vorgeschlagen, dass an einer dem Innenkörper oder dem Außenkörper zugewandten Seite des Deckels ein im Innenkörper oder Außenkörper eingreifendes Führungselement angebracht ist.
In einer bevorzugten Weiterbildung ist im Deckel eine Aussparung vorgesehen, durch die nachwachsender Knochen ins Innere des Wirbeklkörperplatzhalters gelangen und dort verwachsen kann, oder umgekehrt.
In einer besonders bevorzugten Ausführungsform ist auf dem Deckel mindestens ein Dorn angebracht. Es hat sich als vorteilhaft erwiesen, hier äquidistant vier Dorne anzubringen. Mit diesen Dornen dringt der Deckel des Wirbelkörperplatzhalters in den benachbarten Wirbelknochen ein und verhindert das Verrutschen des Wirbelkörperplatzhalters.

Zur Fixierung des Deckels am Innen- bzw. Außenkörper wird in einer weiteren, bevorzugten Ausführungsform vorgeschlagen, am Deckel eine durch eine Öffnung im Innenkörper bzw. durch eine Öffnung im Außenkörper hindurchreichende Schraube anzubringen.
Weitere Vorteile des erfindungsgemäßen Wirbelkörperplatzhalters ergeben sich aus der beigefügten Zeichnung und den nachfolgend beschriebenen Ausführungsformen. Ebenso können die vorstehend genannten und die noch weiter ausgeführten Merkmale erfindungsgemäß jeweils einzeln oder in beliebigen Kombinationen miteinander verwendet werden. Die erwähnten Ausführungsformen sind nicht als abschließende Aufzählung zu verstehen, sondern haben vielmehr beispielhaften Charakter. Es zeigt:

Die in Figur 1 dargestellte Wirbelsäule 10 umfasst diverse Wirbelkörper und einen zweiteiligen, hohlzylindrischen Wirbelkörperplatzhalter 12, welcher zwischen zwei benachbarten Wirbelkörpern 10 angebracht ist.
Dieser Wirbelkörperplatzhalter 12 besitzt einen kleineren, zylindrischen Innenkörper 14, und einen größeren, ebenfalls zylindrisch ausgebildeten, hülsenförmigen Außenkörper 16, wobei letzterer den Innenkörper 14 passgenau teleskopartig aufnimmt. Durch Fixierschrauben 18 kann der Innenkörper 14 und der Außenkörper 16 vom operierenden Arzt in der gewünschten Position zueinander fixiert werden, um eine optimale Stellung der Wirbelsäule zu erreichen. Dabei ermöglicht ein an einem Außenkörper

16 angeordnetes Langloch 34 eine Fixierung des Wirbelkörperplatzhalters 12 in jeder beliebigen Stellung. Oberhalb des Innenkörpers 14 und unterhalb des Außenkörpers 16 ist je ein Deckel 20, 22 vorgesehen, welcher über eine zylindrische Führung 24 und eine senkrecht zur Führung 24 angeordnete, ringförmige Deckelwand 26 verfügt.
In der Deckelwand 26 ist eine Aussparung 28 vorgesehen, durch die der nachwachsende Knochen durchwachsen kann. Auf einer dem Wirbelkörper 10 zugewandten Oberfläche der Deckelwand 26 sind gleichmäßig verteilt vier Dornen 30 vorgesehen, mit denen der Wirbelkörperplatzhalter 12 im gegenüberliegenden Wirbelkörper 10 fixierbar ist. Im Randbereich des Innenkörpers 14 bzw. des Außenkörpers 16 sind Langlöcher 32, 34 vorgesehen, durch die eine Fixierschraube 34, 36 hindurchführbar ist. Diese Fixierschraube 34, 36 reicht bis in eine Gewindeöffnung 40, 42 im Deckel 20, 22, um den Deckel am Innenkörper 14 bzw. am Außenkörper 16 zu fixieren.
Mit Hilfe der Langlöcher 32, 34 sind der Innenkörper 14 bzw. der Außenkörper 16 trotz montierten Deckels 20, 22 um ihre Längsachse verschwenkbar, insbesondere um die hier nicht näher dargestellte Rastung zu bedienen. Einzelheiten zu dieser Rastung können der DE 202 07 853.1 entnommen werden.

Claims (5)
1. Wirbelkörperplatzhalter mit einem zylindrischen Innenkörper (14), der in einen koaxial angeordneten, hülsenförmigen Außenkörper (16) teleskopartig einschiebbar ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass an einer Stirnseite des Innenkörpers (14) und/oder an einer Stirnseite des Außenkörpers (16) ein Deckel (20, 22) angebracht ist.
2. Wirbelkörperplatzhalter nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass an einer dem Innenkörper (14) oder dem Außenkörper (16) zugewandten Seite des Deckels (20, 22) ein in den Innenkörper (14) oder dem Außenkörper (16) eingreifendes Führungselement (24) angebracht ist.
3. Wirbelkörperplatzhalter nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass im Deckel (20, 22) eine Aussparung (28) vorgesehen ist.
4. Wirbelkörperplatzhalter nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass auf dem Deckel (20, 22) mindestens ein, vorzugsweise vier Dornen (30) angebracht sind.
5. Wirbelkörperplatzhalter nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass am Deckel (20, 22) eine durch ein Langloch (32) im Innenkörper (14) bzw. durch ein Langloch (34) im Außenkörper (16) hindurchreichende Fixierschraube (36, 38) anbringbar ist.
