Abstract
Hydraulic horizontal log splitter with device for fully mechanized recording of wood to be split (3) for attachment to loaders, excavators, tractors or similar self-propelled machines of all sizes, characterized in that this fully by a person from the operator station (driver's seat) of the self-propelled machine can be operated without the operator to dismount while working with the device or must be operated manually, the wood to be split piece is fully mechanically-hydraulically-branched transported to the splitting table and the splitting process is carried out fully from the driver's seat of the machine ,
Description
- The log splitters currently available on the market in upright or horizontal position for logs with a usual length of up to 1.2 m are designed so that they can be operated by one person. Usually, these wood splitters are mounted on a tractor in three-point hitching and have their own oil supply (complete hydraulic unit), which is operated either directly electrically or mechanically via the PTO of a tractor. Attachment to a tractor is usually not mandatory, especially for electrical supply, since most wood splitters can be parked independently, but for safety reasons, this is urgently recommended by the manufacturers, to ensure the necessary stability during work. Regardless, the operation of the wood splitter is always tied to a fixed location.
- The person who operates the log splitter must equip it with the logs to be split and then manually initiate the splitting process. During the splitting process, both hands of the person must be on the control lever for safety reasons, so that no hand can interfere with the splitting process and possibly be injured. After the splitting operation, the operator must remove the split logs from the "splitting channel" in order to place a new uncleaved piece of wood. As a rule, this work must be carried out completely manually by the operator in the case of the current commercially available wood splitters. Some log splitters optionally have winches that can pull larger pieces of wood toward the splitting table to facilitate manual effort. Most horizontal log splitters have a mechanical or hydraulic lifting device on the side, which conveys the split material onto the splitting table. Nevertheless, the operator must first lay the split material on the lowered lifting device and then operate it manually from the ground.
- With the invention of the hydraulic horizontal log splitter with device for fully mechanized recording of the wood to be split (
3 ) for attachment to self-propelled machines of any kind, a fully mechanized log processing is made possible by a one-man operation. The device is operated exclusively from the driver's seat. Manual work or dismounting of the working machine to which the log splitter is attached, is therefore no longer necessary. This type of wood splitting guarantees an absolutely fatigue-free, efficient and in particular very safe way of working. The newly designed log splitter is operated exclusively by the hydraulic system of the working machine and is operated by the control units of the working machine (usually with the help of one or more "joysticks"). The log splitter therefore does not need to have its own oil supply. The coupling of the log splitter takes place via the mounting frame (8th ), which is matched to the receiving coupling of the front loader rocker or the boom arm of the self-propelled machine. After successful coupling of the log splitter only the hydraulic hoses (9 ) of the log splitter are connected to the hydraulic system of the working machine (wheel loader, excavator, tractor, etc.). - After locking the log splitter on the working machine, the operation can be started immediately. To do this, the operator with the work machine approaches the uncleaved pieces of wood lying horizontally on the floor and positions the log splitter with the machine-specific boom arm or front loader in such a way that the receiving device (FIG.
3 ) is aligned parallel to the ground. The operator then moves as close to the piece of wood to be picked up, until this independently on the recording device (3 ) rolls / falls. The operator then returns the wood splitter to a horizontal position using the machine hydraulics, so that the piece of wood is moved from the pick-up onto the V-shaped splitting table (Fig.7 ) rolls / falls. The V-shaped splitting table (7 ) ensures that all pieces of wood, regardless of their diameter, always come to rest exactly centered and thus always centered by the splitting knife (4 ) or splitting cross can be pressed. Thus, a uniform splitting quality of the logs is guaranteed without having to center the logs manually. - Now the uncleaved logs with a hydraulic cylinder (
1 ) on which a matching thrust piece (2 ), which runs in a guide of the splitting table, is fixed, pressed horizontally by a splitting knife or splitting cross and there are evenly split logs. Since the machines on which the wood splitter is mounted are self-propelled, the place where the piece of wood to be split is taken and the place where the split pieces of wood are to be stored, may be more or less far away from each other. The operation of the hydraulic cylinder of the wood splitter is carried out like all other movements and processes via the operating terminal of the working machine (usually "control joystick" or other hydraulic control lever). Depending on the diameter of the pieces of wood to be split, an attached splitting cross can be variably aligned either manually or hydraulically, so that the pieces of wood are always split in the middle, both horizontally and vertically. The optional hydraulic shift of the splitting knife / splitting cross can also be carried out without dismounting from the driver's seat, as long as sufficient hydraulic control circuits are available on the working machine. - After the splitting process, the operator moves the double-acting hydraulic cylinder (
1 ) and a new piece of wood can be picked up and the splitting process starts again. - With manual adjustment of the splitting cross, the machine requires only one additional double-acting hydraulic control circuit in addition to the own front loader or the boom, with hydraulic adjustment option of the splitting cross 2 double-acting control circuits of the machine are necessary.
- There are already wood splitter for attachment to loaders, excavators, tractors or other self-propelled machines, which are driven by the hydraulics of the machines. However, these do not have a splitting table and therefore can not absorb the wood. With these devices is driven over the piece of wood to be split, lowered the wood splitter and the piece of wood horizontally pressed on the ground or a piece above the ground by a splitting knife. A centering of the logs and the associated uniform quality of the logs, however, can not be achieved. In addition, the operation of these log splitter requires a great deal of practice and skill in handling loaders or similar machines in order to achieve a solid result. In the novel invention with inclusion of the wood piece on the splitting table (
7 ) operator errors and associated quality reductions are almost impossible since the operator after picking up the piece of wood does not have to intervene in the splitting process or must correct this, since the wood splitter through the V-shaped splitting table (7 ) always produces uniform and high quality logs. - Ultimately, the invention combines the currently available on the market standard prone wood splitters for cultivation on tractors with the wood splitters also already on the market for attachment to work machines, but do not have a splitting table, but split the wood pieces to be split hanging on the machine in a device. The invention combines the well-engineered technique of Lying Log Splitter with a huge workload, so that the splitter does not have to be loaded manually. This also increases immensely the safety standard in wood splitting, since the operator does not stay in the danger zone.
- In addition to high safety, the device also guarantees energy-saving and thus efficient work without heavy physical work.
- An embodiment of the invention will be explained with reference to the drawing 1.
