Abstract

A drone landing place mailbox with at least one shaft (1) on which at least one landing site (4) is located, characterized in that the landing site (4) is partially or completely formed as an elevator platform (5) by means of which the mail item (11 ) downwards.

Description

  • The planned package delivery of Amazon by drones was recently published by the press. The rough concept of delivery is just starting and a suitable infrastructure for this type of package transport does not yet exist.
  • In order to design a section of the planned transport route, a drone landing place mailbox is proposed here which is intended to prevent accidents when delivering letters or parcels by drones and at the same time protects the mail from rain and snow. In addition, the stealing of the mail by third prevented.
  • Due to the novelty level, there are currently no such drone landing mailboxes. A reference to similar patents can therefore not be made. But are known landing pads with position lights which are placed on the lawn. These mark the landing site and eventually record communication with the drone. A protection of any kind does not exist.
  • Object of the present invention is therefore to design a drone landing mailbox so that a secure receiving drone mail is possible. Through a small base cross-section he should find space anywhere and allow low cost by its design.
  • This object is achieved according to protection claim in that the drone landing place is located on a pillar and so outside the danger zone of persons. Through the fully faired shaft ( 1 ) on the elevator platform ( 5 ) lying mail ( 11 ) are transported downwards. At the same time it is protected against access of any kind. If the package is in the area of the landing door ( 2 ) it can be opened by opening the door ( 2 ) are taken manually. The elevator platform ( 5 ) drives up again and another drone can deliver her parcel. Alternatively, the elevator platform ( 5 ) also tilt at the bottom and the package slips off the platform ( 5 ). The empty platform ( 5 ) can immediately go up again. The continuous mail delivery is then nothing in the way.
  • In order to avoid contamination of the shaft interior, it is also advantageous at the shaft head ( 3 ) a lid ( 6 ), which only opens when a drone is approaching and wants to unload a parcel.
  • A communication between drone and mailbox must of course take place. Once to signal who is where. The readiness to receive confirm, etc. This normal automation process is not described here because it is state of the art and can be looked up in any textbook.

Claims (10)

  1. Drone landing place mailbox with at least one shaft ( 1 ) on which at least one landing place ( 4 ) is characterized in that the landing site ( 4 ) partially or entirely as an elevator platform ( 5 ) is formed by means of which the deposited by the drone mail ( 11 ) downwards.
