Um Schutz- und Zierleisten zu ermöglichen, die diesen Anforderungen genügen, ist es beispielsweise bekannt ( WO 95/23688 A1 ), eine mehrschichtige Außenschale vorzusehen, die aus einer durchsichtigen, witterungsbeständigen Deckschicht und wenigstens einer inneren Dekorschicht besteht, diese thermoplastischen Schichten werden zunächst laminiert und dann gemeinsam einem Verformungsvorgang unterworfen, bevor die erhaltene Außenschale mit einem Kunststoff ausgeschäumt wird. Es ist lediglich dafür zu sorgen, dass der als Einsatz in der Außenschale fungierende Schaumstoffkern die Außenschale unverlierbar aufnimmt, damit äußere Belastungen über den formschlüssig in die Außenschale eingreifenden Schaumstoffkern allenfalls unter einer Formänderungsarbeit auf das Fahrzeug abgetragen werden können. Dies gilt nicht nur für Leistenprofile, die zur Dekoration oder zum Schutz am Fahrzeug angebracht werden, sondern auch für Luftleitprofile, sogenannte Spoiler.
