Abstract

  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

  • The present invention relates to patch panels of telecommunications engineering, and more particularly to an angled rail for receiving network sockets or couplings to which complementary network connectors are pluggable, facilitating the placement of network cables in a circuit organizer and ensuring excellent electrical characteristics.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • Conventional patch panels usually have a flat footprint for the back-side mounting of socket or plug-in module modules. After inserting such modules in the base of a patch panel this is attached to a frame. A female or plug-in module for this purpose has on the front side an opening for insertion of a complementary, Steckbausteins-, fiber optic or coaxial plug to a cable or a network line.   • If a plug is inserted into the insertion opening of a socket in the patch panel, the insertion direction is perpendicular to the base of the patch panel. The cable or the network cable on the back of the plug is therefore strongly curved, which can easily lead to breakage of the inner conductor or component damage or changes in electrical properties.
  • Therefore, there is a considerable need for a measure that eliminates the above-mentioned problem of high line curvature.
  • The US Pat. No. 6,537,106 entitled "Telecommunications patch panel with angled connector modules" discloses a patch panel construction. Therein, the connector modules are pivotally mounted in a frame member. By pivoting the connection modules relative to the frame element, the socket elements and the connector modules can be grouped in a straight line at right angles to the pivot axis and thus maintain the transmission properties.
  • The US 6,736,670 The title "Angled RJ to RJ patch panel" also applies to a patch panel construction. Claims (6)

  1.
