Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Steighilfe für Skier, insbesondere für Langlauf- und Tourenski mit beweglichen Krallen, die beim Vorschieben des einen Ski locker über den Schnee gleiten und beim Abstützen auf den anderen Ski in den Schnee stechen. Eine solche Steighilfe ist aus der DE 195 01 398 Al bekannt. Nach dieser Offenbarung befindet sich aber die Kralle als ein skibreites Blatt am Ende des Ski oder seitlich im Bereich der Bindung. Nun ist aber gerade das Ende des einen Skis selten beim normalen oder schnellen Laufen auf dem Schnee. Gleiches gilt auch für den Bereich der Bindung. Diese bekannte Steighilfe kann also nur dann Wirkung entfalten, wenn der Skiläufer sich ständig zwingt, beide Skier stets fest an den Boden zu pressen. In Figur 1 ist ein beispielhaft ein Langläufer dargestellt, der auf einem Paar Skier IO mit einer üblichen Langlaufbindung 12 eine leichte Steigung nimmt. Der rechte Ski 10 stützt sich in Richtung des dunklen Pfeils auf ein Paar seitlich vom Ski 10 in den Schnee eingestochene Krallen 20 ab, während der linke Ski 10 in Richtung des hellen Pfeils mit auf dem Schnee gleitenden Krallen nach vorn bewegt wird.
