Kellerfenster zum Abhalten von Grund- und OberflächenwasserBasement windows to keep out ground and surface water

BeschreibungDescription

Currently, basement windows are mainly being installed in residential buildings and they cannot withstand water pressure from outside, e.g. from rising groundwater during long periods of rain or from surface water during cloudbursts. As weather conditions have recently become more extreme and rainfall amounts ever heavier, many houses now have basements in groundwater. This is not a problem with a sealed basement as is usually found today. It is only when persistent rain sets in or during heavy storms that the groundwater level has recently risen to such an extent that water penetrates the basement through the window openings in the basement shafts and floods the basement. The consequences are not only material damage and failure of the heating systems, which are usually located in the basement, but often also considerable environmental damage from floating oil tanks with subsequent contamination of the building and groundwater with heating oil or environmentally harmful substances stored in the basement.

The invention is based on the object of creating a cellar window which, on the one hand, can be opened for ventilation purposes, for example, and, on the other hand, when closed, forms a tight barrier against water penetrating into the cellar when the groundwater and surface water rise during heavy rainfall.

The above object is achieved according to the invention in that the window sash of the cellar window is equipped with a seal so that the window sash seals watertight with the frame. In addition, the window is built so sturdily that even when the water level is high at the window, the closed cellar window can withstand the water pressure. Such a window can also be retrofitted to an existing cellar window opening without major changes or modifications. This also makes it easy to retrofit existing buildings.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Fenster zum Einbau in Gebäudekeller, das in der Lage ist in geschlossenem Zustand dem Wasserdruck bei ansteigendem Grundwasserspiegel, bzw. am Fenster anstehenden Oberflächenwasser, bezüglich Dichtheit und Wasserdruck auf das Fenster standzuhalten und somit ein Eindringen vonThe invention relates to a window for installation in building basements, which is capable of withstanding the water pressure when the groundwater level rises or when surface water is present at the window in terms of tightness and water pressure on the window when closed, thus preventing the penetration of
