Abstract

The device (10,10') includes a first detector. A vibrating device generates vibrations below the hearing threshold of the human ear in response to first signals received from the first detector. At least one second detector is connected to the vibrating device, which also vibrates when second signals are received. One of the second detectors may monitor the field strength of signals transmitted from a base station. One of the second detectors may monitor the energy content of the power supply to the mobile unit. The vibrations triggered by the first and the second detectors may differ e.g. in frequency.

Description

Technisches GebietTechnical field

The invention relates to an arrangement for mobile communication, especially with the improvement of the usability of such arrangements.

Technisches GebietTechnical field

Arrangements for mobile communication, such as. B. cellular phones or cordless Telephones have been an integral part of our everyday life for some time now. The basic principle of these arrangements is that every user who has one Carried arrangement, can be reached by phone or others Telephone subscriber reached. For example, a caller wants the user of one To achieve an arrangement for mobile communication and for this purpose he has the dialed the corresponding phone number, is - to put it simply - first the Transfer the call request to a base station. From there, the call request is made via an air gap passed on to the cellular telephone or the cordless telephone. Each According to the type of arrangement for mobile communication, in the case of Cellular phones cover the air distance a few thousand kilometers or in the case of cordless ones Phones are only a few hundred meters. Receives one in the order to mobile communication existing first detector an incoming call request, a ringing sound is usually triggered, which gives the user the incoming call displays. Since ringing noises are undesirable or annoying in certain situations are, it is known to incoming calls to the user optically or through a display so-called vibration alarm. The latter is usually implemented in such a way that a Motor with an unbalance is present, which is one of the first detector  detected call input is set in motion and thereby a noticeable Generates vibrations whose frequency is below the hearing threshold of human hearing lies.

To the arrangements for mobile communication with the required Operating voltage, they are equipped with batteries or rechargeable batteries. Depending on Equipment of the arrangement for mobile communication will be the remaining one Residual energy (state of charge) of the batteries or accumulators visible on a display made. But since the display with the arrangement for mobile Communication conversations often cannot be seen by the user be provided that a sound indicating the user to this state generates if, for example, the state of charge of the batteries or rechargeable batteries falls below one certain value drops. It is perceived as a disadvantage that the Charge status signaling noises the intelligibility of the conversation can affect.

It is also known to the user not only the state of charge on the display Batteries or the accumulator display, but also information about to give the field strength of the signals of the received base station. This information is for a user only before the actual conversation by means of Arrangement for mobile communication helpful, as the display is usually not is more visible when the user arranges for mobile communication holds conversations between mouth and ear, for example. Considering in this connection that the reception field strength is already within a radius of A few meters can change significantly, for a user who has the arrangement used for example when walking around means that in unfavorable conditions the call is suddenly interrupted.

Therefore, the invention has for its object an arrangement for mobile  To indicate communication which the disadvantages existing in the prior art eliminated.

Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention

This object is achieved with the features specified in claim 1. Beneficial Training and further developments of the invention are specified in claims 2 to 6.

If at least one second detector is present and with the Vibration arrangement connected, a user through a corresponding state Vibrations are communicated noiselessly when the second detector - the second assigned to each state - receives signals.

According to claim 2, one of the second detectors is one that detects the Receiving field strength of a signal emitted by a base station is evaluated the vibration indicates to the user that he has an area with sufficient Leaves field strength ratios and that with a not available accessibility or a sudden drop in the call must be expected. So it is the user possible after receiving the vibrations indicating the drop in field strength to return to a place with better field strength ratios.

According to claim 3, one of the second detectors is one that has the remaining capacity an energy source connected to the arrangement for mobile communication evaluates, the user sees a drop in the remaining capacity below a critical one Limit value also indicated by an onset of vibration.

The vibrations triggered in accordance with the two preceding paragraphs must but not necessarily run at frequencies below the hearing threshold of human hearing. To ensure that through the appropriate  Vibrations during a conversation the communication with the Conversation partner is not affected, it is rather sufficient if according to Claim 6 the corresponding vibrations are carried out with such frequencies, the outside of that which can be transmitted by the arrangement for mobile communication Frequency range.

It is then necessary to differentiate between the various vibrations worried if according to claim 4, the vibrations triggered each other are different.

Is there a monitoring arrangement according to claim 5, which only after Establishing communication that actively switches the second detector (s) excluded that a user occurring vibrations as incoming calls misinterpreted.

At this point it should be noted that when the second detectors determine appropriate conditions, this is not necessary for a permanent vibration must lead. Rather, the user can impulse-like vibrations on the respective state are pointed out, with further deterioration of the the respective state, for example the pauses between the respective vibrations getting shorter and shorter.

Wege zum Ausführen der ErfindungWays of Carrying Out the Invention

The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the two figures.

In Fig. 1 is an arrangement ( 10 ) for mobile communication. This arrangement ( 10 ) for mobile communication is in the present case formed by a cellular telephone ( 10 ) and comprises a housing ( 11 ), a control panel ( 12 ), a display ( 13 ) and an antenna ( 14 ).

As shown in FIG. 2, there is a first detector ( 15 ) inside the cellular telephone ( 10 ), which is connected to a vibration arrangement ( 16 ) via a connecting line ( 17 ). If an incoming call is now detected by the first detector ( 15 ), this is communicated to the vibration arrangement ( 16 ) via the connecting line ( 17 ), whereupon, for example, an electric motor provided with an unbalance is set in rotation (all not shown) and thus at the same time the cellular phone ( 10 ) vibrated (indicated in Fig. 1 by the wavy lines). So that the incoming call is reported completely silently, but is nevertheless perceptible to the user, the frequencies generated by the vibration arrangement ( 16 ) should be below the hearing threshold of human hearing in this case.

Two bar graphs ( 19 ), ( 20 ) are shown on the display 13 ( FIG. 1), each of these bar graphs ( 19 ), ( 20 ) having three segments ( 21 ) - ( 26 ). The bar graph ( 19 ) shows the remaining capacity of an energy source (not shown) connected to the cellular telephone ( 10 ). The fact that the upper segment ( 21 ) is only shown in its outline and the two lower segments ( 22 ), ( 23 ) are shown filled out, makes it clear that the energy source still has about 2/3 residual capacity. If the remaining capacity of the energy source would drop to below 1/3 during the operation of the cellular telephone ( 10 ), then the segment ( 22 ) would also lose its fill and would only be visible in its outline. As can be seen from FIG. 2, there is a second detector ( 27 ) which is also connected to the vibration arrangement ( 16 ) via a connecting line ( 17 ). In the present exemplary embodiment, this second detector ( 27 ) monitors the extinction of the segment ( 22 ). If this state occurs, vibrations are triggered in the vibration arrangement ( 16 ), which indicate to the user that the remaining residual energy of the energy source has dropped below a critical value. For the sake of completeness, it should be pointed out that the second detector ( 27 ) does not necessarily have to be bound to the filling state of the segment ( 22 ), but can also directly monitor the remaining capacity of the energy source in another exemplary embodiment (not shown).

The bar graph ( 20 ) serves to illustrate the reception field strength of the signals emitted by a base station (not shown). The fact that only the lower segment ( 26 ) is filled makes it clear that the signals emitted by the base station are received only relatively weakly. A better reception would be given if segment ( 25 ) were also filled. In order to indicate to a user that he is using his cellular telephone ( 10 ) to change from an area with good field strength ratios to one with bad ratios, a further second detector ( 27 ) ( FIG. 2) is provided, which is also connected via a connecting line ( 17 ) is connected to the vibration arrangement ( 16 ). If this second detector ( 27 ) receives field strength values below a threshold value, the vibrating arrangement ( 16 ) is addressed via the connecting line ( 17 ), whereby the cellular telephone ( 10 ) is simultaneously vibrated.

In order to rule out that a user does not misinterpret the vibrations triggered by the second detectors ( 27 ), ( 27 ') as an incoming call, a monitoring arrangement ( 28 ) can be provided which only connects the connection between calls made with the cellular telephone ( 10 ) the vibration arrangement ( 16 ) and the second detectors ( 27 ), ( 27 ') switches actively. If the connection between the second detectors ( 27 ), ( 27 ') is only activated when the call is being made, the frequencies generated by the vibration arrangement ( 16 ) need not necessarily be below the hearing threshold of human hearing. These noises, which can then be perceived acoustically, do not impair the intelligibility of the conversation held if the frequencies generated lie outside the frequency range which can be transmitted by the cellular telephone ( 10 ).

But even cellular telephones ( 10 ) that are not provided with the monitoring arrangement ( 28 ) do not have to lead to misinterpretation by the user if it is ensured that the vibrations triggered by the detectors 15 ), ( 27 ), ( 27 ') differentiate by type and / or duration. For example, an incoming call can be indicated by a long vibration, while, for example, a deterioration in the field strength conditions only triggers a brief vibration. A decrease in the remaining capacity can then be illustrated to the user, for example, by repeated brief vibrations. The type and / or the duration of the vibration can also be used to indicate to the user the urgency of the respective alarm. If, for example, the field strength value has dropped to a certain value and this is indicated to the user by a brief vibration, a further deterioration in the field strength relationships can be illustrated, for example, by the fact that the pauses between the brief vibration become shorter.

For the sake of completeness, it should be pointed out that the invention is not only for Monitoring the remaining capacity of the energy source and / or the field strength is limited, but also used to monitor other conditions can be.
