Abstract

To a single long carrier (2) are secured two ultrasonic transducers (5,6) facing one another. The gap formed between them at an angle to the direction of flow forms the measuring distance (7). The carrier is secured to a mount (10) from which it can be detached and which secures it to the pipeline (14). Leads for the transducer remote from the mount are brought out in the links (4), any flow disturbance they cause being compensated in the software

Description

The invention relates to a measuring arrangement for determining Gasge with pipelines using ultrasonic transit time measurement two ultrasonic transducers that can be positioned within a pipeline are. Such measuring arrangements come for example during the measurement of exhaust gas speeds in piping systems or chimneys for use.

In measuring arrangements for ultrasonic measurement of gas velocities in pipelines it is known to have two ultrasonic transducers in one pipeline tion formed in two on opposite sides of the pipeline Insert openings, the second opening opposite the first Opening is offset in the direction of the gas flow. In the used Zu state, the two ultrasonic transducers define a measuring section within the pipeline for measuring the gas velocity. The two ultra sound transducers are alternately called Sen the and receiver operated. Due to the staggered arrangement of the two Ultrasonic transducers in the pipeline cause the flowing gas in Ab dependence on the alternating, opposite transmission direction of the ultrasound alternately an "acceleration" and a "Delay" of the emitted ultrasonic waves in the direction or in Ge opposite direction of the gas flow. From this acceleration and deceleration a transit time difference can be determined from which the gas speed in the pipeline can be determined.

A disadvantage of the known measuring arrangements are the on opposite arranged sides of the pipeline and in the flow direction offset measuring points, which are often not equally are accessible because the pipeline in question and thus the measuring points are surrounded by other pipes or walls. Since the in the Pipelines used in industry are often aligned vertically, are corresponding measuring points on the pipes for assembly and Maintenance of measuring arrangements also mostly only on work platforms reachable, whereby in addition to a working platform at the level of the first un terstromigen ultrasonic transducer a second, additional, the second upstream ultrasonic transducer associated working platform is required. The formation of such a second working platform is associated with considerable cost, which is the cost of the entire measurement arrangement can significantly exceed.

An object of the invention is therefore a measuring arrangement for ultrasonic measurement of gas velocities in pipelines create the provision of two different measuring openings in the pipeline avoids measuring sections with a suitably defined length has, is easily maintainable and inexpensive to manufacture.

The object is achieved according to the invention in that a individual elongated carrier element in two ultrasonic transducers overlying relationship defining one between the two ultra sound transducers arranged measuring section are attached.

According to the invention, the measuring arrangement thus consists of an elongate th support element and two attached, arranged opposite Neten ultrasonic transducers ensure that this as a compact measuring unit can be used in a pipeline, whereby the assembly we is considerably simplified, while at the same time by fastening the Ultrasonic transducers on the carrier element, the respective flow Clearly adapted conditions within the pipeline is defined.

The manufacture of the ultrasonic measuring arrangement according to the invention is shown in economically feasible because the measuring arrangement for standardized Tube diameter can be manufactured in large quantities and then as a pre-assembled, compact measuring unit only in the corresponding Pipeline is to be used.

The carrier element is preferably designed such that it by a single opening in a pipeline in an interior of the pipeline tion can be used and attached to the pipeline. Thereby is the formation of an offset from the first opening Neten second opening in the pipeline is no longer required. Additional Lich, the requirement of a second working platform is also thereby Installation and maintenance of the second ultrasonic transducer of the measuring arrangement removed. In addition, the use of the measuring arrangement is in contrast to measuring arrangements according to the prior art, which is a cumbersome Arrangement of the two ultrasonic transducers on two opposite Sides of a pipeline require to be carried out in just one step bar and thus represents a significant simplification of the positioning an ultrasonic measuring arrangement in a pipeline.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, the carrier element comprises ment a measuring section to which the two ultrasonic transducers are attached are bar, and a mounting portion with which the support member the pipeline can be fastened, both sections preferably being detachable are coupled together. This requires that the measuring section and Be fortification section independently of each other in and can be adapted to the pipeline and also a replacement only one of the two sections becomes possible.

The carrier element is expediently designed such that the Measuring distance between the two ultrasonic transducers at an angle is arranged to the flow direction of the gas to be measured, which in Range is from 30 ° to 60 ° and is preferably 45 °.

The fastening section of the measuring arrangement is preferably releasable Ren coupling of the measuring arrangement formed with the pipeline.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, the carrier element comprises ment an electronic unit or can be coupled with one that is in the inserted state of the measuring arrangement outside the pipeline located and in particular control, control and / or connection device includes. This makes it possible to use the measurement according to the invention arrangement directly - without additional hardware - the speed of the Signals corresponding to gas flow, for example for suitable goods n devices or other control devices.

The carrier element is preferably designed such that the measuring str ke to lie in a main area of the gas flow in the pipeline is coming. In contrast to the prior art, this has the length the measuring section generally through the entire pipe diameter of the Pipeline is defined, to the advantage that the flow conditions adapted measuring section can be defined in the pipeline. This is particularly advantageous for large pipelines because the fiction moderate measuring arrangement the requirement of for particularly large measuring str designed ultrasonic transducers.

It is expedient that the defi between the two ultrasonic transducers Nierte measuring section is essentially parallel to the carrier element arranges.

A method is preferred for the measuring arrangement according to the invention intended for software-based calibration, in particular to the ge rings, influenced by the linkage of the measuring arrangement To be able to take flow conditions into account.

According to a further embodiment of the invention, instead of each the two ultrasonic transducers each have a unit from an ultrasonic transmitter and an ultrasound receiver are provided.

In this case there is a second one at the measuring section of the measuring arrangement Measuring section provided, which is arranged parallel to the first measuring section is, with only ultrasonic waves from the Fastener facing side to the fastening section opposite side of the measuring section are sent and on the two  ten measuring section ultrasonic waves only in the opposite Rich tion can be sent.

In the latter case, it is expedient to attach the cut facing and facing ultrasonic transducer on the measuring section the carrier element by two composite ultrasonic transducer units Definition of the two measuring sections replaced. So that the number of Tei len the measuring arrangement is reduced and thus the structure of the measuring arrangement and their pre-assembly is simplified.

Electrical lines are preferred which are used for the fastening Cut away ultrasonic transducers are required in the carrier element led. This will help to overcome the spatial Distance between the two ultrasonic transducers of a measuring arrangement according to State of the art required complex devices for Lei management avoided. In addition, the requirements for the management conditions with regard to resistance, for example, to aggressive Gases can be kept lower.

The carrier element is expediently rigid in order to Avoid measuring errors caused by vibration of the measuring arrangement can be worked.

The ultrasound transducers arranged on the carrier element defined measuring section preferably has a dimension of 0.3-0.5 m, in order to average possible flow inhomogeneities in the gas stream, which could lead to measurement errors if the measuring section is too short.

The measuring section of the measuring device is preferably to be measured by the the gas flow can flow freely.

The temperature resistance of the measuring arrangement, in particular that the ultrasonic transducer is preferably in a range of 160 ° C and 280 ° C and is preferably 220 ° C.

The invention is un based on an embodiment ter described in more detail with reference to the drawings; in these shows:

The illustrated in Fig. 1 measuring arrangement 1 comprises a support element 2, which is be made of a measuring section 3 and a fixing portion 10, and an electronic unit 17. The measuring section 3 consists of egg nem linkage 4 , which ensures free flow of gas through a measuring section, and two ultrasonic transducers 5 , 6 , which are attached to the fastening section 10 facing and facing end regions of the Messab section 3 and between them a Define measuring section 7 . The necessary for the ultrasonic transducer 6 facing away from the fastening section 10 lines (not shown) are in the linkage 4 to the fastening section 10 facing side of the Meßab section 3 out.

The measuring section 3 is releasably attached to the fastening section 10 , which in turn is provided for the detachable fastening of the Meßanord voltage 1 on the pipe 14 . The connection point 9 between rule's measuring section 3 and fastening section 10 is provided in particular with the implementation of the lines originating from the ultrasonic transducers (not shown) with suitable sealants in order to ensure that no gas can enter the measuring arrangement 1 . The fastening supply section 10 consists of a tubular element 11 and a measuring section 3 facing away, annular flange member 12 which is provided with screw holes 13 .

To fasten the measuring arrangement 1 to the pipe 14 , a pipe element 15 inclined at an angle α of approximately 45 ° to the flow direction of the gas is attached to the pipe wall of the pipe 14 and has a flange element 16 at its end facing away from the pipe 14 . The inside diameter of the pipe element 15 placed on the pipe 14 is only slightly larger than the outer diameter of the pipe element 11 of the fastening section 10 of the measuring arrangement 1 , in order to ensure a secure hold of the measuring arrangement 1 in the pipe 14 and thus vibrations of the measuring arrangement 1 during to avoid measuring operations.

In order to position the measuring arrangement 1 in the pipeline 14 , the measuring section 3 is led through the pipe element 15 into the pipe 14 until the pipe element 11 of the fastening section 10 comes to rest in the pipe element 15 attached to the pipe 14 and the two flange elements 12 , 16 abut each other. The flange element 12 of the fastening section 10 is then fastened to the flange element 16 using suitable sealants.

On the fastening section 10 , an electronics unit 17 is fastened by means of screws using suitable sealants. The electronics unit 17 is in the inserted state of the measuring arrangement 1 outside the pipe 14th The electrical lines (not shown) of the ultrasonic transducers 5 , 6 , which, as previously mentioned, from the measuring section 3 are guided through the fastening element 10 , run from the fastening element 10 into the electronics unit 17 and are there in particular to control and not shown Control devices performed, which are provided in the electronics unit 17 . When the measuring arrangement 1 is replaced , the electrical connection of the electronic unit 17 of the measuring arrangement 1 with, for example, a warning device (not shown) can be easily separated and re-established by plugging and unplugging the detachable connections 18 of the electronic unit 17 .

In FIG. 2, the measuring arrangement 1 is inserted into a pipeline 14 is shown. It can be clearly seen that the measuring section 3 , section 10 and electronic unit 17 existing measuring arrangement 1 is arranged at an angle α of approximately 45 ° to the flow direction of the gas flow. The measured by the two ultrasonic transducers 5 , 6 measuring path 7 comes to rest when the measuring arrangement is arranged in the pipeline in a main region of the gas flow. The gas can flow freely through the measuring path 7 . Possible minor disturbances of the flow through the linkage 4 are compensated for in the electronics unit 17 by means of a software-supported calibration. Since the measuring section 3 and partly also the fastening section 10 of the measuring arrangement 1 are directly exposed to the gas flow, the two sections consist of materials which can also withstand aggressive gases.
