So that the wiping element 42 provided with the support element 12 can be connected to the wiper arm 18 , the middle section of the wiper arm is provided with the connecting device 16 . These free ends can be bent against one another in the direction of arrow 51 after the prefabricated connecting device 16 has been put on, so that they all have the deformation shown in particular in FIG. 4 - right half. In the exemplary embodiment, the U-base 36 of the extension 32 serves as such an intermediate layer. However, the surfaces of the free, claw-like ends 48 of the tabs 46 which bear against the underside of the head piece 30 also form surfaces of the connecting device which have a band surface - namely the underside 19 of the support element 12 . The areas of the head piece 30 which are gripped by the clamping means 52 thus also form intermediate layers made of a material with a high coefficient of friction.

As is apparent from Fig. 7, the length of the wiper strip 22 and the length of the wiping member 42 is larger than the length of the support element 12. As a result, the possibly sharp-edged end edges of the support element 12, which are not harmless when dealing with the wiper blade, can lie within the wiper element 42 by a certain dimension 54 .

It should also be noted that in the exemplary embodiment the length of the wiping element 42 and thus also the length of the extension 32 extend over the entire length of the wiper strip 22 . However, it is also conceivable to form the receiving channel 40 only in the central region of the wiper blade and at its two end sections.

Another embodiment of the invention is shown in FIGS. 5 and 6. The basic structure of this embodiment corresponds entirely to the embodiment just described, but here the U-base of the extension 32 provided with the reference number 36 in the embodiment according to FIGS . 3 and 4 is separated in its central longitudinal region. In this embodiment, an extension 132 with an L-shaped cross section is arranged on the band-like head piece 30 of the wiper strip 22 on each of the longitudinal sides of the head piece 30 or on the side facing the support element. Each extension is connected in one piece via its L-leg 134 to the head piece 30 and thus to the wiper strip 22 . The other L-leg 136 is located at a distance from the wiper strip 22 or from its band-like head piece 30 . The distance between the two L-legs 134 is dimensioned such that it is matched to the width of the support element 12 at least in the central portion thereof. In this embodiment, the support element 12 can also be easily assembled if it has the width of the receiving channel 140 formed in this way over the entire length, because the other L-legs 136 can be folded upwards. However, these other L-legs 136 also form strip-shaped intermediate layers between the upper side 14 of the support element 12 and the surface of the base plate 44 of the connecting device 16 facing this.

A further deviation from the embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4 can also be noted in the width of the tab 146 , which has been chosen to be considerably narrower than in the embodiment already described. If the free ends 148 of the tabs 146 are folded in the direction of the arrow 51 , these free ends can separate the band-like head piece 30 in such a way that they come to rest directly on the underside 19 of the support element 12 (right side of FIG. 6). The securing against displacement in the longitudinal direction of the wiping element 42 is thus effected in this embodiment predominantly by the strip-like regions of the other L-legs 136 covered by the base plate 44 of the connecting device 16 .
